Wonder if the Slovak was already in the pipeline before tell left ? One thing is certain it's our dish that's probably bankrolled it as crowds are still poor.

Five years ago, the January window served us up Denes Rosa and The Mad Monk.

Two good players who seemed to stay 2 minutes before disappearing again

Who signed them? Mixu? Was that the same window we signed JJ?

No really a rumour but I'd like to see us going for we hasslebank from St J. With May now likely to partner iwumolo will Nigel's chances be fleeting. I like the wee guy.

Never fulfilled potential I don't think . Goal return not great for someone with his pace suggesting he lacks composure when chances fall to him

Indeed. Szamotulski had injury problems I believe and Rosa was pretty adamant from the start he was here on a short term deal.

In a flash , Ian holloway wants him at Millwall though, as an aside how many clubs has Ollie had Dobbie at?

I really like the look of this guy I saw him do the job on Celtic and Hearts, he looks like a real handful for defenders and would do well with Collins.

Im hearing were getting this vincenet dude on a 2 and half year deal. not sure if its a pre or now, however if its 2 and a half year deal I suspect it would be now, otherwise why sign him in the summer with a half in it

sad times when Aberdeen outbid us on wages (TB himself said they did) but I suppose that is the position Aberdeen are in, they don't have a stadium & training centre to pay off. They can also see that a striker is what they needed & with him 2nd place & the league cup is almost a certainty, they are speculating to accumulate & it will probably pay off. Hibs operate in a slightly different way & it's a way that will mean our club is around for the next 100 years but it's not necessarily the way that will see us bag the best players on the market. There are arguments for & against both ways of operating.
Aberdeen pay out more on wages than Hibs most seasons.

If Vincent was to sign is he fit?. I'm sure I read he had been out with an injury. Has he played recently?

Remember there were rumours that Hearts wanted to sign him but wouldn't sanction the move in January. He was a big favourite of Czsaba Lazlo's from a previous club. The story at the time was that he was signing for Hibs short term and then going to move to Hearts that summer.

He left hibs at the end of the season and was never heard of on these shores again.

Still remember his diagonal ball across almost the length of the pitch, dropping it bang on whoever was on our wing, setting up the first goal against the Yams.

Think it was a fletcher Header or something.

There is a report that comes out detailing squad wage bills and theirs is usually higher than ours. Suspect we may have paid a higher weekly wage for players like Stokes, Liam Miller and Riordan than anything they have ever paid a player but they seem to be more willing to have a higher proportion of players on say 2-3k a week on their wage bill than we do.

Get the impression we have had the odd player on say 4k per week or so with the majority on around no more than 1.5k - 2k if they are lucky.

I'd consider myself extremely lucky if I were on £1.5-£2k per week!

Yup. Was a half volley if I remember correctly over to Alan O'Brien (!) who crossed over a ball that Fletcher managed to misjudge quite spectacularly - the ball hit his shoulder and still went in.

I'll always remember that goal because it was the first time I saw Hibs beat Hearts.
