    Going to Murrayfield

I have no interest in rugby, id go far as to say i dislike it, but have been roped into taking a rugby daft old mate from down south to see Scotland Australia. Any suggestions as to how to make this experience as painless as possible, in particular decent pubs near the stadium? Im only familiar with the murrayfield arms and the roseburn out that way...

The Mercat on W Maitland Street is a decent bar, bit costly, but, worth it compared to Ryries etc!

The Haymarket and Thomsons are not bad for real ale type establishments if thats your thing.

Caley Sample Rooms - Angle Park Terrace.

Does turn into a bit of a rugby boozer when internationals are on but good grub and beer. Brisk 5 minute walk to Murrayfield or leisurely ten minuter.
