I hope Rod has arranged for someone else to stand in the back corner of the dug-out, muttering strings of sweary words under his breath.
    This is how it feels

Another opportunity for Hibs to demonstrate their care in the community spirit and offer a redundant jambo punter the position of sweary dug out lurker.

    Has Liam O,Brien left

reading the Suns "Story" about Killen and then went to the related articles part and there was a story about Ben Williams being on the bench for Man U and at the end of the article they slip in a wee bit about Liam O,Brien leaving sharp on the Heels of Jimmy Nicholl,s arrival - have I missed this somewhere or is it just the Sun using "Creative journalism"

It would be good to get some clarification from Hibs about this. I presumed that Nicholl was an addition to the coaching staff as opposed to a replacement for LOB, though am happy to have him either way - it would mark quite a change for Pat though, given how long he has worked with Liam.

Excited about Nicholl's addition either way, can only be a good thing IMO. Ross County were holding their own in the SPL last year, but went from strength to strength after Neale Cooper was appointed assistant manager in late November.

No great loss. Jimmy Nic will have a far bigger influence over the players, for one he actually knows his stuff and doesn't need to shout and swear when trying to get his point across.

We will see today if he had left or not. I do find it strange the club have not made any comment on him leaving, so that would lead me to believe he has not

That says to me there may be more to it and there's a reason we're not saying anything, could possibly be a personal issue that o'brien doesn't want in the public domain? Couldbe that we don't know if he'll be back.

Strange one as they have worked together for years and get on very well. Would also assume there's a wee bit more to it.

Maybe LOB thought he should've been named as assistant manager and has gone home in the huff for being overlooked, simple as that.

Was about to post the above, but would also add a biit about NOT covering at opponents'thow-ins. Also taking corners that get higher than the first defender.
Also a higher level of fitness etc., etc.

LO'B has not been a good coach IMO.

Shouldn't Fenlon take some responsibility for poor tactics/organization and poor players (a fair few of whom he has signed)? Either way, Nicholl will improve things.

He dd a great job as manager at Raith Rovers, including beating Celtic in the league cup final and thus qualifying for the UEFA cup - leading to this unlikely half-time scoreline.

Scott Thompson was Jimmy Nicholl's goalie at Raith. Is there anyone else from that Raith team we can bring in as a coach? Danny Lennon? Colin Cameron?

    Liam O'Brien

I was away for hols recently and wondered if there had been an explanation of why LOB left. Thought it was a strange one with him being with PF for a few years. The bringing in of Jimmy Nicholl while a positive step IMO smacks a little of a Derek Adams type appointment in that I am not altogether sure PF would have known him much before the appointment.

Would this appointment undermine the managers position?
