Did anyone watch him winning tonight, I though he looked pretty good. He works as a doorman at why not on george street, it would be great to see an edinburgh boxer go on and win a title again.
Ricky burns is up later, looking forward to that one

This guy Gonzalez looks like a very, very good fighter.
Big performance needed from Burns here.

Already looking like Burns needs a KO. Very unlikely he can outbox this guy to make up the rounds he's already lost.

Burns looked done there against the ropes but landed a huge counter right and left hook.
Gonzalez hurt him more though, a man with a lesser chin would have gone there.
Great round of boxing.

Suddenly Gonzalez doesn't look like he fancies it. Think he's shocked Burns is still there.
Ricky really needs to pile the pressure on.

Gonzalez legs look gone now.
Burns wins the rounds from now on he could just about snatch a draw.

Gonzalez refuses to come out for the 10th.
Burns will to win dragged him through that.
Lot of work to do if he wants to fight Vasquez or Broner.

Jamie McDonell winning the IBF bantamweight title as well. Crazy scoring in that won 114-114, 118-110 and 115-113!
Good night for British boxing.

Personally I think the fact Burns survived the bombs he threw in tue 7th round broke his spirit. He's used to guys going down or wantingbout after that, Burns almost seemed to enjoy it.
Even if he was genuinely injured he was just about far enough ahead he could have jabbed and ran away for 3 more rounds. Danny Williams won a British title fighting with a dislocated shoulder for 5 rounds, Ali fought a world title fight with a broken jaw, Haye beat Valuev witj a broken hand, even Audley Harrison won a European title with a partially dislocated shoulder.

I went through to the Emirates arena, the first boxing event I have ever attended! A thoroughly enjoyable night, not least from laughing a the behaviour of some of the locals. I thought the scoring on a couple of fights was debatable though. Decent atmosphere and a great reception for Burns.
