Reigning Champion Rocket Ronnie eased back into the defence of his crown game with a 10-4 victory, not bad for being away from the game since he won it!

Loving it so far. Glued to the green baize!
Mark King looks pretty good this year.

The Shaun Murphy vs Judd Trump quarter final should be interesting.
Wonder if Ronnie O'Sullivan could possibly retain his title, having played just one professional match going into this year's tournament, since his world title win 12 months ago.
I wouldn't bet against him, put it that way.

I'm the same only with Alex Higgins, too cleancut for me I much preferred the old days and Howard Krugers stable. Good lads on and off the table and liked a bevvy with the table fitters after the framework league games.

The 3rd frame of the night required a re-rack and then even the 2nd attempt took ages to get going.
Currently 3-1 to Ricky Walden at the mid-session interval.
Whoever wins the other semi between Ronnie O'Sullivan and Judd Trump surely has to win the title.
Personally can't see past O'Sullivan, although it is 4-4 at the moment.
Looks like it could be his last ever appearance at the Crucible as well. Or will it?
Not sure even O'Sullivan knows to be honest.

i really really want Ronnie O to win it, he makes Snooker interesting, i like my heroes to be slightly deranged and he fits the bill
i genuinely think he is the most naturally gifted player to ever play the game and winning the world title after a year out cements it
He's also noised up Doherty and Davis which is always good in my book

O'sullivan is an amazing player and a sportsman I have admired for years. His continuous moaning and threatening to walk away from the game is boring though. I read the interview/press conference he done before the semi and his disrespect to the sport that made him a millionaire is disappointing.

I think Ronnie O'Sullivan will win the title this year but just watching his match against Judd Trump just now and Trump will certainly win it one day.
He's too good not to win it.

O'Sullivan is just 3 frames from victory ahead of the final session tomorrow. He is 14-10 ahead against Judd Trump.
In the other semi, Ricky Walden and Barry Hawkins are a session behind and they resume tomorrow with Walden 9-7 ahead.

O'Sullivan eases into the final, a remarkable feat considering his time away from competitive snooker. Does this tells us just how poor the general standard of the other players is or that practice and a competitive edge is really no match for natural ability?

There's things that he can do with a snooker cue that you simply cannot teach. You either have that or you don't and O'Sullivan has it in abundance.
Even although, to have reached the final without breaking sweat, having not played for a year is still pretty amazing.

Final will be between Ronnie O'Sullivan and Barry Hawkins.
O'Sullivan beat Judd Trump 17-11 and Hawkins has just beaten Ricky Walden 17-14.
I can see a repeat of the 2008 final when O'Sullivan beat Ali Carter 18-8 in the final.
Just watching Hawkins' interview now and he just looks delighted to be in the final.
If O'Sullivan does win the title, he'll be the first player to win back-to-back world titles since Stephen Hendry won 5 in a row between 1992-1996.

Walden must be kicking himself after losing when it looked like he was comfortable with plenty of opportunities. Sadly I think the final will prove to be pretty one sided.

Always enjoy a game of snooker but rarely watch it as i get bored. However other night watched the highlights for the few hours it was on and was hooked.

O'Sullivan has a 10-7 lead at the half way stage in the final. Hawkins has done better than I thought he would have done so far and he's given himself a chance going into tomorrow but he'll need to start well. If he allows O'Sullivan to win the first two or three frames tomorrow then it could be over quite quickly.

O'Sullivan won the 3rd session this afternoon 5-3 so he extended his overnight lead by two frames and went into tonight's final session 15-10 up and only needing 3 more frames to win his fifth world title.
However Barry Hawkins has started well tonight and won the first two frames and is now just 3 frames behind at 15-12.
Looks like O'Sullivan is going to win this frame though and go just two frames from victory.

O'Sullivan wins 18-12.
Fantastic performance by O'Sullivan, it's scary how easy he makes snooker look.
