Coming over from Bremen for the derby this weekend. What's the score with pre-match drinks? Will there be any pubs open before 12 on Leith Walk or near the ground?

Behind the goals bar is open at 11am for season ticket holders and a guest! If u know any ST holders...if u don't and there's no where else I'll be up about 11am and would happily help a Hibby out

Cheers.
I should be meeting a mate who'se coming down from Dundee, and his nephew is a ST holder, plus a couple of mates I think, so that might be the answer. But if I'm stuck I'll send a PM.

My train gets in at 10.45am so I'll be at the ground by 11.15am. If there's anybody kicking about that needs in as my guest I'll happily oblige.

Germany seems to have another approach - or at least Bremen. Licensing laws? What they? You see lots of people on matchdays selling bottled booze from makeshift stands. The only law here seems to be about recycling the bottles - they all have a deposit on them. But it's so low that people don't bother returning them. Instead they get collected by various street urchins pushing nicked supermarket trollies.
Beer's good, cheap, available and the streets get cleaned up afterwards. Not a bad system

Beer's mostly gash, expensive, often unavailable and the streets get p1shed on and spewed up in afterwards.

The New Yorker will be open AND serving alcohol from 10am. Decent scran, Sky Sports on the tele and a couple games of pool. Perfect.
