Yep, not looking good for Anderson as Barney is in impressive form and not really giving away any chances. Mind you, Anderson blew a chunk of darts at x16 in leg 3 of that 2nd set which done for him.

Jeez, Gary was closer to the bull than double 11 there!
Barney was OK, but Anderson was very, very poor.

Both poor on the doubles but blarney muddled thru. Hope painter gets gubbed next. Canny stand the man

Terrible performance by Gary there, the whole day hasnae lived up to its potential at all, disappointing.

Lewis was brilliant just there. Hit a 180, celebrated, Painter hits a 180 in reply and does a sarcastic celebration and then Lewis goes and hits another 180 and rips the pish out of Painter
2-1 in sets to Lewis. Decent game.

The 8 players tonight might be the 8 players for the Premier League. 7 of the top 8 players, the non top 8 player is Barney who will definitely get a wildcard slot if he's not top 4 by the end of this event.
Possibly Thornton in for Newton to keep a Scottish interest. Although I would sub Thornton for Hamilton because Hamilton is a tollie and keep Newton in!
Anderson just isnt really playing that well at the moment and will need a wildcard to get in.
What do others think?

Barney 2-1 up in sets. Good scoring just now by Whitlock who is making a bit of a comeback.

The last set Barney just knew those darts were going in. What a game him versus Taylor (assuming he gets through) will be

First day of the tournament I decided to have a bet, backed Whitlock +1.5 sets and Taylor to score over 6.5 180s, oh well!

That was the best game I've ever seen! I can't stand Lewis but he played brilliantly. MVG was unbelievable.

Some game. I like Lewis. Met him at Ian Murray darts day and he's a sound lad.

That was incredible darts from both of those lads tonight. It's weird, I cannae stand Lewis when he's on the oche but when he speaks I come round to him. Very magnanimous in defeat and he is a true champion. Would love to see a van gerwen; barney final, would be some atmosphere.
Never one to laugh at others misfortune but today could only have been improved by rangers getting horsed and God pissing down a meteor shower of fifty pound notes on Edinburgh

Premier league is going to be something special next year with every player in the top eight or so capable of beating each other on their day! One of the best sports to watch either live in person or live on the telly imho! Hope Van Gerwen wins it as he has been awesome this tournament.
