Just got tickets for Hurts at the Garage in Glasgow. Anyone been to a gig there?
Saw Editors there back in the day, is a decent venue yes. I managed to get up on some raised area down the left side, good view with no annoying tall people in front of me!

    Absolutely awesome live band

I've just been given a couple of tickets for the Slam Dunk festival at the University of Leeds for this coming May and I'm really looking forward to it - not quite as good a lineup as last year so far but a large number of bands still to be announced. Loved that so many bands I love played such an intimate festival, which really is targeted at quite a niche market in all honesty.

Also have Finch, with support from Mallory Knox at Brixton Academy next month which I'm really looking forward to

How I Spent My Summer Vacation and Anchors Aweigh were 2 staples of my high school days - used to listen to them a lot around the same time I was into bands like Millencolin, NOFX and Allister (to name a few).

    Was a good era

I love all their albums, seen them so many times I cant count! Been a huge fan of NoFx since around 1994, millencolin too! As you say, a great era back then, Fat Wreck and Epitaph sample cds were great!

Went to see Victorian Trout Conspiracy at the Annex last Thursday, great band and pumping gig, but they did a number half way through the set, I'm sure they said Matt Done was in the audience and started a song about him. Was anyone else there to confirm or deny this? I had had a few pints by the time it happened but my mate was there and heard the same thing

Also, anyone else going to download this year?

Went to see W&W for a while and they were pretty good. Wasn't with other trance lovers though so was dragged away in the end!

Worst type of people haha. Still looks like one hell of a great festival. Roll on next weekend for Ultra Music festival. Costing me an arm and a leg. But will be worth it :D

Was at the O2 Brixton Academy on Friday for the 10 Year Reunion of What It Is To Burn tour with Finch, supported by Mallory Knox and Cytota.

Mallory Knox recently released their debut album (Signals) which was pretty damned good and they're every bit as impressive live. Really enjoyed their short set.

Finch took the gig to a whole new level, playing WIITB in its entirety and adding in some of their older EP songs, as well as Worms of the Earth (Underworld soundtrack). Flawless live, superb energy and it brought out every emotion in a superb crowd.
