Last year had tickets for The Charlatans, the Manics, Brandon Flowers at the Usher Hall, Blur at the Barras and Kasabian at the Corn Exchange.

Slow start is year but going to see The Last shadow Puppets at the Usher Hall.

Not a fan of sitting at the Usher Hall but it's a great venue if you're standing. Getting some decent acts too.

The band, Viola Beach, who were going to be supporting Blossoms at the Liquid Rooms on 3rd March have all died in a pretty terrible looking car accident in Sweden.

Some of this looks interesting, http://marchintopitlochry.co.uk/ but only weekend tickets on sale.
There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

Hurts at the O2 Academy in Glasgow last week were tremendous. Another British electronic band that are woefully under appreciated in the UK yet are about to play to sold out arenas around Europe.

I really can't get into them. Style over substance but I think I'm in the minority as everyone else I know loves them!

Not sure you are in the minority, the venue was far from full. I'd had thought they'd be playing arenas by now like they are elsewhere. I'm going to see them in Helsinki and Tallin next month. Both gigs are in Ice Hockey stadiums with 10k and 18k capacities. I think their latest album was a let down compared to the first 2 but the synth/electronic thing is just not popular in the UK compared to elsewhere.

Got tickets for the balcony just now for Ashcroft. Night before my 40th. Seen him with The Verve at the Barras, this could be special!

I'm seeing them at the O2 in London - hadn't heard of the support group and having given them a quick listen, won't be hurrying into the venue to see them either.

Also bought tickets to see Biffy Clyro, Fall Out Boy and Wolf Alice at the Glasgow Summer Sessions in Bellahouston Park. This will be my 7th time seeing Biffy live now - they never fail to impress me!

Last Shadow Puppets tomorrow night. Read a review of them on the NME, no chat in between songs. Not sure if the atmosphere will be a little frosty after Miles Kane behavior at the recent Spin interview...

Shakespere is right next to it which isn't too bad. If you were standing outside the Usher Hall and were to turn right down Lothian Road you've got the Red Squirrel. never been there but heard it's good.

If you were to turn left you've got the Beer Kitchen. Innis and Gunnn pub, quite expensive but pretty decent. Further up you've got the Hanging Bat which is good and Moriary's which is alright.

not far from the Usher Hall is Lebowski's, couple of minutes walk. Quite like it there, always busy.

And right next to the Useher Hall is the Citrus Club. Quite possibly the greatest club anywhere in the world that plays indie music or any kind of music. Good place to head to after!

Best place to drink near the Usher Hall is the Blue Blazer, IMO.
Corner of Bread Street and Spittal Street.

That's probably where I'll be before the gig.
