Gerard Way's solo album Hesitant Alien is a cracking listen, a massive departure from the sounds of My Chemical Romance. It is heavily influenced by Britpop and you can really hear that coming through in most of the tracks. Maya the Psychic, the last song on the album, is a brilliant song.

After hearing the few songs that have leaked, the new Slipknot album is defnitely back to their best. Drummer and bass player impress for being new and the heaviness that was missing from AHIG is back.

Thurston Moore - The Best Day

Really enjoying this sounds like a sonic youth album as you would expect.

Of Mice & Men, Restoring Force, remains on repeat just now.

My album of the year, without competition.
Madness, as you know, is a lot like gravity. All it takes is a little push.

Not an album but I just had the displeasure of hearing Bring Me The Horizon's new single, 'Drown'...

They sound like 30 Seconds to Mars FFS - where's the heaviness gone?!

Not a 'new' album but after watching From Paris With Love earlier, I've cranked up 'Beyond Virtue, Beyond Vice' by Vaux tonight.

Excellent album - shame the band died quickly after releasing it!

Album of the Year is easy: that being said I'm enjoying Aphex Twin's new album even though it's a ******* to get into.

New pink floyd album. Alright so it's not a new album as such, more a collection of leftover tracks from the 1993 sessions that became the division bell that have been completed and mixed. But I'm glad both for nostalgic reasons and because after listening to it a few times today it's pretty good. Nearly makes me wish I still took a toke

Got it yesterday, never thought I'd see another. Love it, also find it very moving.
