Liking the new Coral album, Sea Of Mirrors.

It’s quite chilled but not quite what I’d hoped it would be based on how they described it “ Combining their love of 60s and 70s Western cinema, baroque pop, Love, Scott Walker, Sergio Leone, Lee Hazelwood and Ennio Morricone. Was hoping for more of a The Good The Bad & The Ugly and Once Upon A Time In The West sound.

New Mikes Kane album is also ok. Has its moments but not as good as his earlier albums.
Is that really how they described it?

I'm about to give it a listen!

    Very good 👍

I've listened to it now and it is ok, but it's not getting me excited about seeing them on tour again.

It's definitely chilled without any stand out tracks (none for me yet, anyway) unless Sea of Mirrors counts because it's as dreary a track as I've heard for some time!

6.5 out of 10 but I will give it another listen or 2.

If you're needing a spaghetti western type fix, turn your speakers up and give The Lonely Shepherd by Gheorghe Zamfir a blast!

New Teenage Fanclub album, Nothing Lasts Forever, is good. Quintessentially Teenage Fanclub, so they’re not pushing any boundaries, but they do what they do well.

Loving Kula Shaker’s new album, “Natural Magick”. Parts of it are a bit like if The LA’s we’re Indian and not Scouse.

Also got Cast’s new album, but not had a chance to listen to it yet.

Just listened to Cast’s new album, “Love Is The Call”. Very good. Quintessentially Cast so not pushing any musical boundaries, good nonetheless though.

New Paul Weller album announced today, “66”, out in May. Quite like the track released with the announcement.

Loved their first album, not so keen on their subsequent releases. Shocked to discover it was released 28 years ago!

Blasted by Mean Jeans, musically it's much the same as their previous outings and it's pretty standard Ramones influenced pop punk. What it is though is 30 minutes of super catchy and fun songs.

It is surprisingly good, probably their best album since their debut.

I went to see John Power at Assai last week and I bought the record as much for a ticket to see that short set and get some records signed. But I've not really stopped listening in the past week. It's brilliant.

Light a candle for the lonely by Ghost Work, just arrived today and it's had quite a few spins already. Indie rock/post punk from guys that were previously in Seaweed and Snapcase amongst others.
    Really enjoying this one.
