I love a good bit of banter, but those are rotten - I never find much humour in the school X and Y jokes - too structured and done to death.

Having said that, in the spirit of the forthcoming season:

Jim Tressel and Lloyd Carr are walking down the beach talking about the rivalry between Ohio State and Michigan. As they are walking, Lloyd trips over something in the sand. Upon closer inspection it turns out to be a genie’s lamp. “Who disturbs me?” asked the genie. Jim and Lloyd both say they did. “You will each get one wish,” said the genie. Jim offers to go first. “I want an impenetrable wall built around the entire state of Ohio so that none of those stupid Michiganders can ever get in. I want it as far down into the ground as it is high and I want it to be completely sealed in so that we can finally have our peace!” The genie grants the wish to Jim and he is instantly whisked away to his new paradise. The genie now tells Lloyd he’ll grant him one wish. Lloyd says, “Fill it with water.”

. I beg to differ though. Bet you if we had a poll my crappy x,y jokes would win ahead of that guff .

Ah, humiliation - your caption is indeed accurate - the harder you try, the sillier you look. Example A:

    Give me an "H",
    (Give me an "H"),

I hope youre right but i dont like the fact he hasnt played a preseason game. I like Edwards, Golden Tate or even TOs chances of being a regular starter more.

If Rice is fit, he's the number one starter for sure. I know a lot of the pre-rankings have him as a low pick, but surely it's purely on his injuries.

If he can stay healthy, he'll start regularly for you guys and he's capable of big numbers.

He said in the press earlier in the week that he's ready and will start in week 1, though he'll remain on my bench for the first week just incase .

I almost opted for Tate instead and I'd been thinking about him this week (normally Seattle aren't an automatic thought for receivers, but Flynn adds a new dimension, so why not?) but after reading the interview with Rice, he sounds like he's ready to go.
Madness, as you know, is a lot like gravity. All it takes is a little push.

Incidentally, I'm quite genuinely surprised nobody has taken a wee gamble on Shonn Greene (RB Jets) yet. Considering Ryan's promise to return to the "ground and pound" offense, where Greene is a regular starter (evidently a lack of confidence in the throwing ability of both QBs) and capable of a decent running return. I thought about him but having drafted Redman, opted to go for another receiver.

Thems the chances you take i guess. Hes had one big season with the Vikes so hes got the ability, i suppose.

Two things, Greene isn't good enough to be the number 1 RB in a ground and pound offence and we have TEBOW . Lost count the amount of times I've said it but once we make the redzone he will take over. TEBOW will score more TD's this season than Greene.

Now the draft is finished i hope everyone is happy with their picks. I will load them into the teams at some point over the weekend and then everyone can prepare for week .

How did everyone feel the draft went? I thought it went on a bit longer than i thought it would but i thought it would be worth a go with the offline draft to ensure everyone got a decent chance at picking.

I'm not totally happy with my picks because I didn't look at the schedule so I ended up with a lot of players out in week 7. Next time I know to take schedule into consideration.

I felt the draft was vert slow. I don't know how other people do it but I tried to be prepared so that when it was my turn I knew who I was going to pick (from a list so that if my first, second, third, etc. pick was taken I knew who I wanted next). Next time we should try and find the time to have everyone online at the same time - REALLY difficult with timezones. However, what's the rush? I don't think I would change anything given the scheduling difficulties we would have.

Thought it went well, the draft was difficult but as max said time zones make it harder for some.

I enjoyed it, thanks to Gatecrasher for setting it up. I suggested we get everyone online at the same time so we can get it all wrapped up in a single afternoon, and i still think that would be the best way. The 10 days marathon gave it some extra tension though

I enjoyed it, was quite long but I don't know how many nights I would have 3 hours uninterrupted to sit and do a draft, so perhaps this is the best way.

It didnt help that I had hardly heard of most of the players after the first 3 rounds, so i'm not even sure if i'm happy with my picks or not!

Ton of info when you fill out that site! My team doesn't rate very well though. LOL. I didn't find the succinct summary you have though, maybe that's in the e-mail? The overview I read says this :

    Overview:
You've put together a very interesting team here. Our numbers show it as being below average at all three core positions (QB, RB, and WR). And yet, somehow, we don't hate it. With proper care and feeding throughout the season, this team should be in the thick of things.
But your margin for error is probably slimmer than that of your fellow contenders. You're going to have to be diligent in your search for help through trades and the waiver wire.
Players we particularly like on this team include Steve Johnson, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, and the Lions defense. We have all these guys ranked ahead of where they are typically being drafted.
    Bottom line:
    • With great inseason management, we think you have about a 65 percent chance of making the playoffs.
    • With good inseason management, we think you have about a 50 percent chance of making the playoffs.
    • With average inseason management, we think you have a 30 percent chance of making the playoffs.

Yeah it's a pretty interesting read. This was mine in full

    Old school!
Make no mistake about it: this team is about strength at the running back position. And we think it will be the league favorite or very close to it. Somewhere Terrell Davis is smiling.
Nonetheless, we'd be remiss if we didn't at least mention the relative lack of strength at quarterback and receiver. These are usually survivable weaknesses, but we'd feel better if we knew you were committed to zealously scouring the waiver wire for this year's emergent players at QB and WR. Getting a breakout player at one or both of those positions would take your already-good team to the next level.
Players we particularly like on this team include Matt Forte, Ben Tate, and Garrett Hartley. We have all these guys ranked ahead of where they are typically being drafted.
    Bottom line:
    • With great inseason management, we think you have about a 99 percent chance of making the playoffs.
    • With good inseason management, we think you have about a 90 percent chance of making the playoffs.
    • With average inseason management, we think you have a 83 percent chance of making the playoffs.

Pretty much what I already knew, but the comments are based on a specific scoring system and I had no idea what it was...

This team is built around strong quarterback play. Despite not being strong at running back and receiver, we think this team should be in the mix.
Nevertheless, we feel compelled to mention that the RB and WR positions make us a bit nervious and are likely to require some attention throughout the year. We'd feel much better if we knew you were committed to scooping up 2012's breakout players at RB and WR. Getting one or more of these would take this team to the next level.
Players we particularly like on this team include Alex Smith, Carson Palmer, and Tony Gonzalez. We have all these guys ranked ahead of where they are typically being drafted.
    Bottom line:
    • With great inseason management, we think you have about a 70 percent chance of making the playoffs.
    • With good inseason management, we think you have about a 50 percent chance of making the playoffs.
    • With average inseason management, we think you have a 32 percent chance of making the playoffs.

I'm a little surprised that my WRs are taking flak but then, the authors of the site have Welker rated as the #34 ranked receiver in the league and I wholeheartedly disagree...

I knew I was a little soft at the RB position but Johnson's productivity should increase from last year and Redman is going to be the starting back in Pittsburgh until Mendenhall is healthy again.
Madness, as you know, is a lot like gravity. All it takes is a little push.
