I remember back at last November's AGM a question was put to the board to which Rod Petrie pointedly stated there was no interference by the board in the playing side of things.
I detected a sly dig at our neighbours in that comment in terms of team selection and the like being influenced by board decisions.
Thinking about that further, I do wonder if that lack of "interference" equates to a lack of accountability to the board in terms of footballing matters? I appreciate the club won't wash its disciplinary laundry in public but is the lack of a board level strongman who reads the riot act to the manager every time a player is seen misbehaving perhaps the root of our problems?
Just how are our managers (and in turn, players) appraised?

Is a lack of accountability / responsibility our main issue?
