I reckon Harry was first choice, but he has let it be known that he's got unfinished business at Spurs.

Spurs will be raging that this 'decision process' has been allowed to drag on for so long, during which time their performances have gone 'off the rails'.
Many attribute this slump to the uncertainty over 'Arry's future.

Their chairman also let it be known that they want £10 million from the FA for Harry . No chance.

Some joker phoned 5Live earlier saying that the England job was the biggest in World Football!!! I thought it was only the Jambos that were deluded

I think Woy could do a job tbh, always speaks very well when he's on the tv and has done well at most of his jobs apart from the obvious one at Liverpool.

I always like to see Engerland get beat and really like them to have a manager I dont like. However, I really like Hodgson, so I'll have to wait until the English media build him up to be the next world beater, then normal service will resume.
What a bummer for Spurs though, although their fans will be delighted Arry is staying, their season has been ruined by all this speculation.

Smacks of them having painted themselves into a corner after insisting the next guy had to be English, then Tottenham collapsing once the pressures of the spotlight landed on Harry, it leaves Hodgson as the next choice.
Given the English managers that are about he's not a bad choice, I just don't reckon any of em to be even close to world class.

Hodgson is a good appointment for the England job. He's a good scholar of the game, has managed in several different countries in club football as well as having experience in international football. I suspect he'll be suffocated by their media, though.

So, this summer, we will have all the excuses after a defeat to "Ukwaine" by Woy...

Hodgson is an excellent manager proven internationally, its a good appointment.
Redknapp has made a career of being a pal of journo hacks so he always gets a good press. This helps disguise the fact hes good for not much more than wheeling and dealing in the transfer market, persuading his owners to part with massive amounts of cash for agents.fees, and leaving his teams in the lurch with massive financial problems.

harry's too much of a "geezer" to get the job, bet the FA blazers canny stand him.

Makes no difference who they get, the media will over hype him and the team then destroy him, they always do and they always will, that's why they will never win anything ever again

Daniel Levy is a master negotiator and despite the FA saying Hodgson is their only target I am sure in any fornal discussion with Mr Levy regarding Harry he has made it clear it will cost them a king's ransom.
