No, would need to be sent off for violent conduct in the last game of the season.
Hope we don't build him up to be someone he's not before the final, last few derbies we've given him far too much respect, I'm not talking about someone clattering him early doors, I think he quite enjoys that and takes confidence from it, if we put someone on top of him and stop him playing he'll find that far more frustrating but imo we've played into his hands far too much recently

Ian Black
If Black was booked against St Johnstone & Celtic, shouldn't he be suspended for the final?

Take it from someone who was at the game he was booked. I'm happy that barring injuries both teams can play their strongest teams. I would grant an amnesty for the final each year so unless someone gets sent off in semi then then bookings should not be carried forward. I'm not understanding this.
I've checked the BBC, ESPN Soccernet, Sky Sports and the Guardian and none of them have Black down as being booked against Auchinleck.
Surely they can't all be wrong?

24-04-2012 12:42 AM #23Yep, totally agree with this. I have awful memories of the Hibs 2nd XI that played against Hearts in the semi-final not that long ago. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I don't think Black's a great player but he is capable of great moments like his pass for Beattie in the last derby.
Our midfield needs to stand up.

Agreed - remember Ballack missing the WC Final a few years back. Keane and Scholes missed the CL FInal in 99 as well. Everyone (except maybe a straight-red in the semi) should be eligible for a Final. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
That pass was over-rated - just a simple chip over the top after our midfield stood off him. Basic stuff that someone from Bonnyrigg Rose could've managed given that amount of time and space. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Ian Black is a dirty, over-rated *****-bag and always has been.
Surely it doesn't matter whether he is playing or not, Hibs should not be bothered by his presence/lack of presence,if we play our own game and everyone gets behind the team then we will win.

Here is a list from the SFA site from 12th January which I assume was just after the Auchinleck game indicating Black sitting on a booking.

24-04-2012 10:25 AM #28Hibs without McPake would be much weaker than a Hearts without Black IMO. But you misunderstand me. I would make an exception for Ian Black not because he's a good player (though, grudgingly, he is) but because he's an 'orrible c*** that should have seen red in the semi-final.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. The same cannot be said of McPake.

24-04-2012 10:56 AM #29The rule has to be there, otherwise folk going into the semi final on a booking have no deterrent from picking up another one. I feel sorry for those who are booked or sent off wrongly, such as Darren Fletcher for Man Utd before Champs League Final, but for those who deservedly pick one up they have no-one to blame but themselves. It may deprive someone from playing in the biggest game of their lives but lets not forget it also opens the doors for others to play when they otherwise wouldn't have. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member.
