Usual .net reaction to Hibs signing another SPL player. FFS if he signs support him and the team. 10 days ago Stack was getting slaughtered for being terrible. Now Hibs get linked with a experienced SPL keeper who is not Hibs class.
If he signs I will support him I just hope he doesn't

If he's as rubbish as nearly everyone here insists and unless this is complete newspaper fabrication, where does this place Fenlon's judgement of a player?
Perhaps that's why we should wait and see who the manager signs and how they play before making that call?

I have not seen a lot of him, just games against us and tv games. Is he any better than what we have with Stack or Brown?
He's been in a Scotland squad and for all scotlands faults that's one area we're pretty decent and think he was aberdeens no 1 when they were finishing 3rd and doing well in Europe so I'd suggest he probably does have more ability than those two.

Whether fenlon can get the best out of him and whether its worth the gamble is probably the question to be asking here

The tabloid reports indicate that it is Scott Thomson (our goalkeeping coach) who has recommended Langfield.

He probably is better than our incumbents, however he is not someone I would be excited about. I think he is an average keeper and has let a few howlers in during his stint at Aberdeen.

Our fans and even the press are very unforgiving when it comes to our GK's dropping clangers, which only inflates the problem.

We were spoiled with fantastic keepers for years, Leighton being the last best one we've had sprinkled by a Colgan career high period and the wonderful Andersson. The rest have not really been anything to shout about.

I'm obviously in a very small minority in saying he could be a decent addition. Not that I've followed his career closely, but when I've seen him he's been decent.

Was he not injured a couple of seasons ago? Just seems to have dipped in quality since.

Still would say he'd be a good signing.

Might be a bit hazy, but did he not have a heart scare last year?

If so, maybe not such a problem opposed to outfield positions.

Reminds me of the 1st time Orman went down which was frightening to witness.

Why are people telling us to stop moaning? I don't see why I should pretend to be positive about a potential signing who I don't believe is good enough.

He only ever got into the Scotland squad because loads of keepers were injured at the time.

To be fair. Langfield is a decent keeper and given some of the utter balloons who have had the #1 shirt at Hibs probably better than most.

It's not as if we could get Victor Valdes or Iker Casillas.

Hopefully this isn't true, he's had more howlers than Lon Chaney Jnr. Terrible keeper.

We couldnt get David Villa or Gonzalo Higuain either, so should we just go for Darren Mackie?

Only my opinion of course, but he's pish. And I've seen him playing plenty of times to make that comment too.

Langfield is decent, no doubt about that - but is he any better than Stack or Brown? Not so sure!

If the closing comment in the Express article is anything to go by I've got heavy doubts as to the reliability of this Express journalist's info though....

"Sproule could even recover to return to the squad for Sunday's clash with Motherwell."

    Its the Express FFS.

Journalism at its finest. To be fair all their crack sports journalists are still tied up checking out whether Desert Orchid was a horse or a flower.
