Took the wee man (6 y/o) to his first ever game.

He was saying on the Friday he didn't want to go as he doesn't like Hibs!!!

Glad to say, he loved every minute of it, singing the Hibs songs at the game and he was still singing them going to his bed tonight.

I enjoyed the game today for the first time in ages!
That's because for the first time in 12 months we won at home on a weekend.

Very enjoyable cup tie, with reason for (cautious) optimism for the rest of the season.

I actually enjoyed watching us defend today, can't remember the last time I could say that!

The desire that the players showed to put their body on the line to protect the clean sheet (inspired by the superb McPake) was fantastic to see, something I haven't seen at Hibs since the McLeish days I reckon. Fenlon congratulating the players at the end and coming to the fans gives me real hope that he is developing a strong team spirit that we so desperately need.
Even Biscuits Preston sounded like he was enjoying us defending. (and I mean enjoying how well we were defending!)

His descriptions at times left a bit to be desired. Every time he spoke he said that 'Killie are coming more and more into the game here Richard!' or/and 'Hibs are dropping deeper and deeper here Richard!'.

By the fourth or fifth time he said this in the 2nd half I had visions of Killie spraying the ball around like Barca and Hibs defending on our own goal line.

I was driving back up the road from Cupar and listening to the game and my wife was watching me SMILE, listening to Alan Preston commentate on Hibs! I was punching the air instead of banging my head on the steering wheel!

For the first time in god knows how long, I wasn't feeling that sense of impending doom that a Killie goal was just round the corner. From what I was hearing I thought, 'we're going to see this out!'

    What a refreshing change!
