I finally got around to watching The Devil's Advocate on Sunday night - great film. I remember a while ago having a discussion on here with someone who thought Keanu Reeves couldn't act; I take it that you haven't seen this film yet?

I love it. One of my favourites. Very under-rated.

Charlize Theron in it aswell, BONUS.

I cannot believe others haven't mentioned it. It is superb.
I watched this after reading the review but think I'd seen it before. Great film.

    Is there an English remake?

Also watched Videodrome after reading a post here. Wish I didn't.

The original dawn of the dead is one of my favourite films. I remember watching it when I was about ten and it took me years to find out what it was.

Got a hold of the original and still love it. Really impressed with the new version as well.

I downloaded cannibal holocaust but no hard coded subs so had to put it off.

Also, is it just me or was Al Pacino born to play that kind of role?

Buffalo 66 is a great film.
A decent film. Vincent Gallo is a dick though. I also think it prudent to mention that I'm in love with Christina Ricci.

My Mum bought me Limitless, 12 Rounds and The Bourne Trilogy. Yet to watch any of them!

Really want to get into The Pacific - bought it last year but couldn't help but compare it to BoB, which it isn't in the same league as.

If you compare anything to BOB you'll not be impressed.

The Pacific is still excellent though.

Comparing anything to BOB as far as I can see is only going to result in disappointment!

Don't think i've watched a more moving bit of tv drama than the Concentration Camp episode.

So they showed the new Judge Dredd film at Comic Con in San Diego yesterday and it seems to have gone down well.

It's out on the 7th of September. Can't wait :
Loved it. It has made me very, very happy. Karl Urban nails Dredd, there are a bunch of cool wee easter eggs for the fans and some of the special effects are fantastic. I will definitely be seeing it again in the next couple of days. And I say that as a long time reader who's a pretty hard audience when it comes to film adaptations of books I love (I loathe the film of LA Confidential, for example).

On top of that, Doddie - who's never read Dredd - thoroughly enjoyed it.

I was about to recommend Dredd myself.

Apart from having to adjust to Avon Barksdale in a new incarnation as yet again a drug-dealer who's seriously irked the constabulary ...

First film I've seen in 3D - some of the effects are stunning.

I too will take steps to see it again shortly ...

... and I will be using scenes and quotations as illustrations in my sermons for many weeks to come.

    Afterthought.

I recently watched an absolute classic film noir from 1947 - "Out of the Past" aka "Build My Gallows High", starring Robert Mitchum, Jane Grier, Kirk Douglas and directed by Jacques Tourneur.

Anyone who likes the genre will love this film.

    I rate it .

It is quality. Sequel will also be happening

From what I've seen on the trailers for Dredd, it appears to be very similar to The Raid!

Dredd not out here until next week though I don't think so I shall find out then...
