Wee update- The beers have enjoyed a fantastic start to the season and are playing some cracking football. The most pleasing aspect is the togetherness of the squad and the excellent attitude being displayed. Keep it up lads!

It would be nice if fixtures were put up like last season so if any ,netters are at a loose end they could pop along to watch, then results posted after the games

I know you have a new private website but I dont think a little bit on here would take up much time.

Take a look at the result from last night Coco and see if you think the statement in bold is correct..... http://www.eadsafa.com/new_page_2.htm

Fents was a big player for us but both him and the Beers have moved on, we've made a great start to the season but there's still a long way to go. As Deek says above there's a real buzz about us and we're hoping to have a great season

Good stuff Fraser great start and cracking result :-) was only kidding about fents but its also fair to say he kept this board busy with all his pish :-) would be good if someone took the reigns and posted a wee bit more as I always liked keeping an eye on you lot as a former beer (worst keeper to ever play for the beers) it was good to be kept in the loop ggtth

Beers go top of the league!!

With a million hurdles to overcome is was a miracle this game managed to go ahead. first off the original scheduled referee was unable to cover the game so an alternative was sought. The replacement ref was traveling from work in Livingston and was unable to make a 6:30 ko in Dalkeith so an alternative pitch was arranged for the Gyle. The opponents were informed and everything was looking good till 16:10 when Edinburgh Leisure grounds dept announced they had been unable to line the pitches and so all 5 scheduled games at the Gyle were called off, just over two hours before kick off. The Hibeernian management hastily sourced yet another venue and booked Drumbrae, but the replacement ref announced he was unable to commit to a slightly later ko of 7pm. Yet more searching , and with the help of Len Blackie at EADSAFA HQ, Mr Livingston agreed to cover the game.
    Phew!!
Hibeernian AFC would like offer their thanks to all at AC Midlothian for their patience with all the re-arranging.

The Beers manager named the squad with Lewis Glancy making an appearance up front after covering in the centre of the park for the past 3 weeks. Fraser Jeffrey slotting in to his usual berth of CM and Brad Drew coming back in to RM. The manager took the brave decision to put new boy Gibby on the bench as he though the big fellas hustle could prove useful in the later stages of the game when legs were beginning to tire. Gibby was also nursing a slight ankle knock that felt fine but the gaffer didn't want to push it too much.

There was a small flash point around the 20 minute mark when the Hibeernian RB had possession of the ball and played into the channel, only to be taken out by a horribly late challenge from behind. free kick to Hibeernian.

the game restarted with neither team threatening the other too much but the break came around the 25 minute mark when Lewis Glancy found himself one on one with the keeper and kept his cool to slot home to open the scoring.

Hibeernian doubled their lead around 15 minutes later when a lovely through ball from Brad Drew found Moncur just inside the AC box, Moncur feigned a shot, slipped the ball onto his left and coolly slotted the ball in to the bottom right of the net. half time, AC 0 -2 Hibeernian!

the game restarted with the same line up for both squads. the Hibeernian RB had clearly been identified as either a dangerman or a weak link that was to be exploited as he appeared to be receiving special attention with a series of horrendous tackles and a barrage of abuse from the side. The big man held strong though and apart from a couple of through balls that made it into the channel nothing got past the acting RB.

AC pulled a goal back when a freeckick from just outside the box found the head of an AC player who connected cleanly to put a looping header beyond the reach of Beattie in the Hibeernian goal. 2-1 Hibeernian!

Hibeernian found the net again when Jeffreys, Drew and Burnett played some lovely one-twos on the left and played into the box to the feet of Moncur. Moncur made no mistakes when he connected perfectly to lash the ball accros the keeper and into the right hands side of the net. Hibeernian 3 - 1 AC.

the second AC goal happened with around 25 minutes remaining when a cross from the left flank passed dangerously between the defensive line and the goal, Josh Young made an attempt to clear but the ball deflected off the wee man and into the back of the net. Had he left it the wee Ac front man Ormond would have been perfectly placed to slot home from close range. 3-2 Hibeernian

the remaining ten minutes saw the game reduced to hoof ball with both teams desperate to take something from the game.

the final whistle went to signal 4 wins out of 4 for Hibeernian and a valuable three points won. Hibeernian currently sit top of the division.
