we tried to raise the standard of debate around here? You know the kind of stuff - abuse and bile that wouldn't dare to be said face to face. I'm thinking specifically of the 'advice' regularly offered to a certain Mr. RP.
I'm sure you will have identified the regular offenders, they come out with the same insults every few days, and obviously very proud of it, in their comfortable anonymity.
Maybe you could suggest that this http://www.wsc.co.uk/content/view/7448/38/ be required reading for the habitual offenders, along with the question - do you recognise yourself?

Anyone who feels inclined to abuse themselves would surely be better winding a website with a slightly different specialism?

The point of web sites like ours is that you can let off steam and you can have a rant, within reason. The way that you temper " vile abuse" is that you post a reasoned reply and the other posters either back you up or shoot you down. Too me, that is the whole point of threads. Posting a personal opinion and then wanting your views applied as hard and fast rules is something altogether different. PM for reasoned debate. MB for fun.
