I think her long layoff will mean that another title will be a bit too much to ask but with the Williams sisters you can never write them off as they are both great champions.

Roger Federer has now come in from 5/2 to become the 2/1 favourite to win ahead of Nadal with William Hill.
I don't know why but I want Federer to win. Maybe because he is getting on and people are dissmissing him as some sort of has-been....More the fool them...and I don't think Nadal should be taking over his major record on the back of winning one tournament x amount of times.
C'mon Roger. Andy can have a shot when he retires!

That annoying voice of Tracey Austin and the grunting of Venus Williams is spoiling this match which is otherwise outstanding.

That first set especially was probably the finest piece of women's tennis I've ever seen. Date-Krumm is a real hero, and the match places her younger contemporaries in a very dim light indeed.

A brave attempt by the 40 year old Date-Krumm but sadly Venus Williams won.

How many times does the director want to focus.on Murrays burd Kim?
Incidentally, can anyone think of a major sports star who has an ugly (or st least not model looks) partner?

I love watching the tennis but hate the commentary on BBC Wimbledon. They wheel out these smug, smart-mouthed types every year. McEnroe is one I particularly dislike. He's a man who has some apologies to make. BBC love his "edginess".
Boris Becker is okay. Mainly cos you can't understand a lot of what he says!

Couldnt disagree more heretoday. McEnroe is a brilliant pundit...he just oozes personality, intelligence and has the authority of doing it at the highest level himself. He and Michael Johnson on athletics are massive coups for the BBC.

Okay I stand alone in my dislike of Mac. I just remember how annoying he used to be as a player.
Kicking up a fuss when things were going against him and abusing poor old Mr Miggins the line judge.
John Inverdale - now there's a guy I'd like to batter with a Wilson racket!

It's the time of year when I have to constantly deploy that tired old lie "it's the rallies that make woman's tennis so utterly fascinating" when the wife catches me fixated on the screen.

Robson v Sharapova was better than watching porn
What time is Murray set to play on Centre Court tonight?

Robson needs to lose a bit of weight I'd say. She plods around a bit. Gives it a good belt though.

Currently 3-6 6-3 0-1
I would guess that Andy Murray will be on in about 45 minutes or so depending on how long it takes for the women to finish the third set.Last edited by iwasthere1972; 24-06-2011 at 04:35 PM.

Murrays serving is poor tonight, he is struggling. 1 set all though, so, still a long way to go.

Question for the tennis buffs on here.
Has the dates for Wimbledon being played changed? I remember Wimbledon fortnight being in the school holidays. The schools aren't even off on holiday yet. I'm pretty sure that Wimbledon used to be played towards the end of July. Anyone know?
