RIP. I just read that his dad Gil Heron was the first black player to play for Celtic.

I had the absolute pleasure of hosting GSH when I ran a gig venue in Aberdeen. It was one of the few times I was genuinely star struck. A true legend and one of the best shows in the year or so I was there. This clip was the final song of a 2 hour set, the first half hour of which was just the man chatting to the crowd in a Bill Cosby stand-up stylee. RIP Genius!

Just heard and absolutely gutted. A total genius. As well as his revolutionary stuff, he could write the most beautiful wistful love songs. 'I think ill call it morning' 'needles eye' all absolute classics. RIP.
