Not for somewhat older "specky fashion victims" it isn't! The younger you are the more it will benefit you, the older you get, the greater the likelihood/certainty that you will need glasses (if only to read)...

A friend of mine was due to get this done and had everything organised and paid for. At the last examination before it was due to go ahead, it was recognised that he had Glaucoma and couldn't get it done.
He was fuming that it went that far before this was recognised, having psyched himself up for the opSomeone once told me that hard work wouldn't kill me.
I thought: "Hell, why take the chance"!
