    Palsson at RB?

Missed the Iceland U21's game tonight but I got told by a mate that Vic was playing at RB. Was told that he was up against that young fast guy from Aston Villa called Delfouenso ( I think that's how you spell his name)? Quite an odd position. How did Palsson do at RB tonight? Would you say he is decent cover for that position when needed or would you give it a miss and avoid playing him in that position no matter what?

From what I saw he did fine. English winger never got past him, and he was big and strong in the tackle and passed the ball well out to the Icelandic midfielders. Also won headers defending set plays.

Didn't get forward too often - not the overlapping type.

On balance I'd prefer to have him in centre midfield on Sunday. Big battle to be won in that area.

Good to know that he flexible and has the ability to play in 2 or 3 positions. Overall a real asset to the squad.

I don't think he has the pace to play at full back. Stopped the winger getting to the line and passed the ball out of defence. Good performance but only a friendly so wouldn't take too much out of it.

Certainly did though not many would have been able to stop him given the timing of the pass and run. Thought VP did ok and looked solid and confident on the ball.

Didn't he play at RB against Scotland at ER or have I imagined reading that?

Yes, he came on as sub that night at h/t. The Icelandic right back had been given a tough time by Barry Bannan in the first half but Palsson did a bit better in the second half.

I guess he plays there for them because they maybe don't have a specialist right back playing at a pro level, whereas they have plenty of good middle to front players at that level (best known being Gylffi Sigurdsson).

He needs to play centre mid against the Grunts alongside Jimmy Scott.

That is where the game is going to be won and lost therefore we need our best players in there.

Spot on about Scott. He for me is going to be crucial. The midfield will need energy and bite and already Scott for me has proved he has a shedload of energy which he uses to great effect. Before his arrival we were lucky if we had one midfielder joining the attackers in the box, but now with his workrate and ability to drag players all over the place, we have him, Miller and DW all getting into the danger area and scoring. It's no coincidence that since his arrival the midfield look more potent going forward.

Booth I think will have a difficult task and my main worry is that Callum will be targeted a little and pace put against him to prevent him getting forward as much as he would like.Would actually be tempted to put Scott on his flank to help Boothy and break up their play allowing him to get forward. Vital though is that each player, Scott especially, keeps the head and is not rash.

Midfield of Wotherspoon, Miller, Palsson and Scott should strike the right balance. Dare I say it I would also be tempted to partner Vaz Te and Sodje rather than Riordan. In both games v Dundee Utd, United's front players ran their central pairing ragged with pace and being direct. Hearts are a good team but they look leg weary for some reason.

Victor needs to stand up and be counted come sunday. His physicality will be crucial and this is where the game could be won or lost.

    This sunday is his time.
