Wot about the singers........
Got to hand it to the singing section at tonights game. Their backing of the team was a real credit to the fans.club - especially their rendition of "Green & White Army" just at start of second half - absolute brilliant. Well done lads.

27-01-2011 01:01 AM #3Credit where credit is due, in these dark times I have to take any positives I can from the games and it really made me proud the way the lads sung their wee hearts out tonight. Good on yeezeThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

27-01-2011 01:17 AM #4They were good tonight and I didn't think they were going to stop the rendition. I had already moved to the other end of the stand so can't take any credit. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
A new song could be "We only sing when we're losing" because I can't see where our next win is going to come from.

Too many stupid songs tbh, Hibees bounce at 2-0 down? We'l support you... have we been relegated yet? Oh it's all gone quiet over there when it should have been quiet where we where. Not that I'm against hibs fans supporting their team but some of the songs take the biscuit and are embarrassing.
I'm sure many others agree like the boy who got chucked out at Motherwell.

I started the Hibees Bounce chant cause i didn't want to hear them doing 'Bouncy Bouncy' over us, people moan that there is no atmosphere in the SPL, well we are trying to change that.. Would you rather we all sat there like boring *******s and let they manky Huns outsing us on our own patch?

I've said as much on another thread, but I'll say it again ... WELL DONE THE SINGING SECTION! I hope you aren't put off by the odd negative comment - you'll always get that, I'm afraid. The fans around me in the Upper FF are certainly grateful for your efforts (even the grumpy auld gits over 60 like me
). If it wasn't for the atmosphere you generate the sound of a great wailing and gnashing of teeth would be evident for all to hear. I hope the players appreciate your efforts too.
Keep it going guys!

I,am all for a bit of singing but some of the chants are just wrong . Last night was ok a few stupid songs but Saturday at Motherwell was shocking. " We,re s**t and we know we are" is not getting behind the team.

Singing Section
Having missed last nights game ( 1ST THIS SEASON). I am glad to read some posotive comments from supporters who are not involved with the singing section. However, there will always be negative comments coming from that minority who in my experience (a) never get up and sing (b) never suggest songs to sing(c) will still moan no matter how anybody supports the team... In case you haven't noticed, it is getting rarer to hear songs regarding a certain Mr Mercer from the singing section. But SOME fans who criticise the singing section wouldn't highlight this as being posotive. I for one can take any criticism as long as it's constructive criticism. But for those who choose to be armchair critics and who have the necessary empowerment to effect change within the singing section but choose not to, should in MY opinion either shut up or get yourself in the singing section and help with the singing etc.
Mick1875 Massively proud to be a member of 12th man singing section.

The singing section were BRILLIANT last night.
Even though the home crowd was way down for a huns fixture we still managed to for the most part outsing the current buns, to the extent where even though they were winning they near enough gave up.
They only negative for me would be that I would like them to break up the 'Calderwood's green & white army a bit more with different songs.
Apart from that ......... Well done lads, you made what would have been a pretty rubbish game to be at a bit more enjoyable. Me & my mate on the half way line do our best to join in in the hope that those around us will too.
Have to say that last night it was starting to work.
Keep it up

Bovril
Cheers for the nice comments Bovril. The idea is to break up Calderwoods Green and white army with other songs. Usually it works, but sometimes the guys and gals just can't help themselves. It is sometimes not intentional to go on as long, but, if you were in the middle of it and having the laugh we all have then you would see why it sometimes goes on. It's supporters like you who 12th man Singing section needs. Nice to hear you were joining in. Feel free to come and join us at any game matey, we can do with more like ya.GGTTHThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

27-01-2011 11:24 AM #16Didn't realise we were only allowed to sing that song in the midst of being relegated? Is it the same rules for "<insert team here> til I die" and the like? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

27-01-2011 11:29 AM #17What about the jokers on the pitch, can't be anymore embarrassing than them... I was in the singing section last night and enjoyed the fact that we were making light of the situation... The Rangers fans were awful, so why shouldn't we just sing our hearts out and try and have a good time? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I would like the Calderwood green army song to last longer. Think we should go for a full 45 minutes. Even if it just annoy some of the grumpy ones. I don't sit in the singing section but enjoy the atmosphere it creates
-
27-01-2011 12:10 PM #19Exactly, how good would that be a 45 min chant, as for the grumpy gits - get5 a life, the lads are just trying to generate an atmosphere at the game, in fact now that I think about it, the current buns were giving it large up until "Green & White Army began" they even tried to sing over it but when they soon realised they were pissing against the wind they all shut up, sat down and were hardly ever heard afterwards. That is wot led to the " It,s all gone quiet over there " chant from the hibbys - it's called banter lads, nothing to get embarrassed about, just a lot of self-minded people ripping the pish out o' the blue-nose shoat gaggers. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. They were Great 2nd half
It may have helped if They had been noisy at 0 - 0 and not 0 - 2.
The noise only goes up when we are behind which to be fair is often .

Even better was when the 3 minutes of added time were announced, a chant went up of "We're going to win 3-2!"
-
27-01-2011 01:32 PM #23Can I ask why it should have been quiet in the Hibs end!? Are you only allowed to sing when your team are winning! I'm guessing you are just annoyed that Hibs fans making positive noises was drowing out all your miserable grumping? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I love the green and white army stuff, esp after about the 7th minute or so when it just gets a bit trancey.........it's the only thing that draws me to the game at the mo.

Despite the terrible football, i still enjoy the games just as much, with the vastly improved atmosphere.
Well done to everyone in the singing section.

After 15 minutes my arms are knackered and the heart rate is through the roof
And I love it
I just really do not get these moaning gits who come on here having a go at people trying to get an atmosphere going. FFS in previous seasons we were moaned at for NOT singing in the east. Now they have the audacity to come on here and moan that we ARE singing.
As for what we were singing last night - 'We'll support you ever more' - and why not?. The Hibees bounce was started because the bile from the west were doing their bouncy bouncy cr@p. We even sang Flower of Scotland in response to their GSTQ.
A lot of the singing is supposed to be in response to what the oposition are singing or doing so where's the problem?
It's a true saying that you can't please the people all of the time but in some cases here you just can't please them at all.
Would hate to be related to some of these people as they must be real fun at a party

As long as I am. personally, in th esinging section, I will keep singoing even if it is just to amuse myself

27-01-2011 07:41 PM #27The singing section has been really good and it's fair to say ER would be completely silent but for groaning at the moment if it wasn't there, but the self depreciating songs mocking how unlikely it is we're actually going to win wouldn't be missed, IMO.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Disagree - I was watching on the box and thought it was great to hear the Hibees support coming over strongly even at 2-0 down.
But the one case in point I'd agree with you on is the "sheight and we know we are" song - just dinny like that one as it is indeed embarassing.
Well done to the singing section though - will look forward to joining in with you on my next visit to ER

Hoping next week when we play St Mirren the singing section are in such fine voice. I was a bit sceptical at first about a singing section but it is going well at ER and can see it being something that will continue to bring back a decent atmosphere to the ground when we start to see an improvement on the pitch.
