    Geography help needed

Ok not real geography help but a bit of a random question.

Can anyone tell me the furthest place from Edinburgh without starting to come back again?

I have no idea of the answer but am just curious. I know the law of probability suggests it will be somehwhere in the sea or ocean so if someone could give both the correct answer and also the nearest land mass that would be great.

The exact opposite (the antipodal point) is in the Southern Ocean, and the nearest land is New Zealand's south island

I remember my Uncle telling me that was why he went to Christchurch to live.
