I have been looking for books that manager have written on football. Not there autobiography. I have only found three.

Carlo Ancelotti: The Beautiful Games of an Ordinary Genius, starts off as a autobiography but the second half is on his thoughts on the game.

Manage Like Mourinho: Inside the Mind of the Special One, not yet released and is written by Jose Mourinho

A Game of Ideas: Thoughts and Passions from the Sidelines by marcello lippi but there is no English translation

does anyone know of anymore ?

Terry Venables is unusually prolific in this field:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/They-Used-Gr.../dp/0140244220 (I wrote on this for my English O-grade. That was when lower ed exams were challenging...)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Terry-Venabl..._athr_dp_pel_1 (Who can forget Nicholas Ball as Hazell)

And Steve Bruce has written (and published) some dreadful novels!

There are a course a few more obscure titles, which I suspect will now only be available through antiquarian booksellers:

'Defending the World Cup' by Ally McLeod

'Creative attacking play' by Bertie Auld

'Spotting and signing new talent' by Jim Duffy

'Winning new year's derbies' by Bobby Seith

'How the Old Firm came to dominate Europe through cooperation and kindness' by Neil Lennon and Ally McCoist

OK I think the last one may be preposterous, but I'm sure others on here will know of some more serious titles.

Does assistant manager count? Andy Gray was the number two to Ron Atkinson at Villa in the early 90's, wrote this in the late 90's:

    An excellent book too.

Reid's got a chance but ultimately Ferguson is going to be the judge on that one.

    Top recommendation.
To quote a Yam "believer" on the announcement of their spiralling debt of 37M

i went for Ancelotti because of his history with milan. i preorderd Mourinho's book because he has had success at every club he has been at. van Gaal's as well because of the clubs he has been at and players that have worked under him.

one of Venables books look interesting but i worried that it was reminising about his time with the england squad.

from what i could see most of fergusons were about his life and his victorys but not on tactics nor his man-management.
