Delighted about Lacy. Whenever I watched the Packers I thought how much he runs like Beast Mode, like he's trying to attack each tackler. Only doubt is his weight and motivation issues.

  5. #8764
If he's fit and keeps his weight down then he could be a great signing. Seems a really low amount of money as well, so a pretty good deal.

Rumours that when he visited teams he was 30lbs heavier than his fighting weight last season though. That's not just something you lose with a couple of weeks of training. At least he has 6 months till the season starts to lose it though.

He isn't though. That's exactly why NFL contracts are just numbers.

It's all incentive based and not a cent in guaranteed money. It's actually a good deal for the giants. He's unlikely to even take a snap as Eli hasn't missed one in his career, but should he be required at least the Giants have a guy who has some ability and has faced an NFL passrush.

Geno gets to sit behind a 2 time superbowl winner for a year in a proper establishment and grow.

The Giants have done some real legitimate business this year. All set for the draft with no glaring needs meaning they can go with BPA.

It can't all be incentive based surely, dont all players get a base salary? Where does his wage come from!?

Here's an article about it. Only 200k guaranteed money so Jimmy is correct.

Basically the Giants pay him max 1.2 mill if he sits as Eli clipboard holder all year and $325k if he gets cut. There's likely zero cap implications for the Giants.

    Win win.

I agree its peanuts. But you said it was 'not a cent of guaranteed money', which I just wanted to clarify.

Fair enough. My point about the Giants not spending 2 million dollars on Geno is still correct though.

It would be pretty funny though if they didn't pay him anything. He could claim welfare

    It's not politics, Haymaker, honestly

But seriously, Colin Kaepernick has to wonder what's going on when career failures like McNown and Cutler are getting signed to probable starting jobs and he can't even get on a team. He's definitely being blackballed.

Adrian Peterson visited us yesterday but BB elected against offering him anything.

No real surprise - he's a gamble for any team, in spite of his quality.

Marshawn Lynch coming out of retirement and talking to the Raiders. Apparently he is technically under contract with the seahawks so Raiders will need to trade for him!

Lynch to the LV Raiders would certainly make things interesting.

Would love him at Foxboro. Imagine that!

I'm sure BB has a price he'll pay, AP will know it. Up to him to decide big money or a super bowl?

Marshawn is a Raider fan, no secret there, so the move makes sense. The problem is this is such a quiet time of year that the lowest common denominator crappy sports talk shows will make up stories from really flimsy evidence. (example, Q- is Richard Sherman subject of trade discussions? A- We always listen to offers for any of our players. Headline-Seahawks WILL Trade Sherman!)

So best to be sceptical about everything

I got the premium seating options at the Chargers and one of them has Champions's Lounge Access like I get for the Galaxy with players passing by and all inclusive food and drink. Way better than I expected but there is a price to pay which is quite astonishing compared to MLS. It will all be worth it when we win the Super Bowl in LA in 2021 at the new stadium in Inglewood.

Attended NFL live last week up at the EICC. Steve Smith and Kurt Warner were there. There was this massive dude from the Browns there as well. Danny Shelton, legs like tree trunks!!

Good night all in all with some good banter and chat. Steve Smith was funny but absolutely mental at the same time!!

Shelton is a monster, I watched him a few times at college for the Huskies, totally dominated the middle of the line. Shame he's playing for the Browns now really.

I see we've retained Malcolm Butler, which comes as a pleasant surprise!

Still reckon Jimmy G will be gone by the time the draft gets underway - he should command us some pretty good compensation too.

In other news, our former TE Aaron Hernandez has hung himself in prison - no great loss.
