Apart from the Ravens vs Steelers, who play on Christmas Day (9:30).
That's going to be a belter Two teams who hate each other, both on good form, playing for the division with no other games at the same time.

Currently downed by this norovirus *******, but cheers New England for giving me one hell of a Christmas Eve smile!

Was genuinely saddened to see Derek Carr broke his leg. He's been great for that raiders team and as much as I want first seed and home field advantage, id rather not be given an advantage like that ahead of next week.

I'm a fan of his, not just because he's my fantasy QB. Tough competitor in the mould of Jim McMahon with a really classy action and strong arm. Hopefully he'll come back as strong next season.

Peculiar end of the season in the AFC, which is basically over a week early. Ravens Titans Broncos all blow it and let the Dolphins stroll into the wild card. It looks like the Pats to lose with the Chiefs and Steelers look the only realistic challengers as the Raiders and Texans both going into the playoffs with replacement QBs.

Delighted we are in the pay offs. Will likely be a doormat team this year but good experience for the youngesters and guys like Cam Wake deserve a shot.

I'll be cheering on the Dolphins in the minor conference playoffs, but whoever progresses will be easy meat for the NFC :

Still early but 17-0. Are Miami actually a playoff team?

    Home field advantage. Lovely

Kubiack resigns as Broncos head coach.

Gary Kubiack has resigned due to health reasons.

Not sure who I would like to see in. Kyle Shannahan is in the frame and is being interviewed. No sure about Shanahan as no real head coaching experience. Going to be an interesting offseason to be a Broncos fan with new HC required and also interesting to see what that QB situation will be. Also will Wade Phillips be kept on as DC?

    Playoff Prediction Deathmatch anyone?
Wildcard weekend is clearly going to be:

    Seahawks beat Lions
    Steelers beat Dolphins
    Packers beat Giants
    Raiders beat Texans.

They look completely lost without Carr. Granted they've picked up a couple of OL however Carr is the lifeblood of that team.

Should be the final nail in the coffin after that woeful INT.

It raises an interesting point about backups, actually. Maybe teams should invest less on superstar salaries and more in a solid squad of 45, especially considering the slew of injuries that are happening. I'd bet that the Pats and Seahawk's wouldn't have won the number of games they have without Garropolo and Thomas Rawls stepping in to famous teammates' shoes. That Cook guy should never have been out there yesterday.

Good point Bollah. Is it me or has there been a huge increase in the number of injuries recently? Seems every team is suffering another big injury every week plus loads of little ones.

It does seem so. Maybe it's counterintuitive, and the increasing harshness of the rules to make the game less violent means players are artificially holding back from collisions and hence are more likely to get injured? We've all heard coaches in football, rugby, gridiron saying the easiest way to get injured is to try and avoid collisions?.
Go back to the old days when they just beat each other up, I say

I still say that, if you go in less than 100% you'll get injured.

Roast in the oven, beers in the fridge, Marino shirt on and living room to myself all set to watch Miami play some play off football.

Hopefully it won't seem such a novelty this time next year.
