Surely the Cowgirls fans must be spewing right now! Murray, the most productive RB in the league last year, gone and replaced by Mr Injury himself?

Well Saints fans, acquiring Browner might remove some of the anger at losing Graham - a solid CB you've acquired!

Yet another off-season where I struggle to understand our moves and trades - you take the Superbowl winning defensive partnership in Revis and Browner and get rid of not 1 but 2 of them...
I was talking to a guy yesterday and we have to trust. I mean, you can't always buy a team. Perhaps they have some really good talent waiting in the wings?

As bollah pointed out above, every single year I bemoan our activity but every year we take players who very few people have heard off and turn them into successes.

I don't know what the formula is in New England but it does work! I look at the players I've been stunned to see released and find myself questioning, "where are they now" a lot of the time - consider Moss when he left, Welker, Vinateri, Maroney, Ty Law and Asante Samuel...all gone on to do very little.

Whilst I don't think that'll happen with Revis and Browner (they're too good as players), did the Patriots perhaps see something that just wasn't worth the money? Certainly in Revis' case - he'll be 30 at the start of the season so I can understand why we weren't forking out the same money New York offered.

We've acquired a few defensive players since all of this unfolded so at least they're plugging the holes.

I liked Browner but he was / is a penalty machine and I think that is something the BB won't tolerate. You're right about all the players you listed. I would add Richard Seymour to that list as well. We seem to have a knack of getting the best out of (some) players and getting rid of them either at the right time because they decline, or maybe they just don't prosper as well in other teams' systems.

Or maybe we're garbage and we just win because we cheat all the time. ;)

Good post. Its the system in New England, not the players that make it work. Its the same in Seattle really, we tend to the same thing every season systematically. Trade away our high draft picks for free agents and get most of our squad from low draft picks who are athletes first, technical players second. We haven't had a first round pick for four years iirc.

We're apparently speaking to Reggie Bush today.

If a fit Reggie Bush arrives in New England next year, I'd be delighted

spoke to my cousin today on skype, word in louisiana is the reason why we are going more strongly to the run with less emphasis on the pass heavy offense isnt just to make Brees more efficient this year but also to make the team more ready for his successor, been quiet talks now that we fancy drafting the "next aaron rodgers" apparently thats meant to be Marcus Mariota, with the amount of draft picks we have picked up it wouldnt be much of a move from 13 up to 2, id be truly if that was to happen though but nothing the Saints have done this offseason has been the norm.

Are you getting anything? I collect the mini helmets and wouldn't mind chipping in for postage to get it for cheap.

Sorry bud, I already placed an order. Was trying to get a cutsomised jersey but they wont post it to the UK . Ended up getting 4 t-shirts, a baseball cap and a Santonio Holmes jersey for £50 and that includes postage and custom fees. Check out ebay for the helmets. There are always some on there and thats where I got mine (only got Jets one's) I got a New York Titans helmet for a fiver not that long ago lol.
