We still need to trade for a decent WR. And we need The Gronk back.

The commentary last night suggested the players are getting pissed off that he's not playing as he's turning up in practice and is easily the best player on the field, only to be left out on Sundays.

We definitely need another WR - our current crop are dropping far too much.

Brees interception. How that wasent a timeout or delay of game I will never know. Watched a lot of football and never saw that. He tried to take timeout at 1. Play clock went to 0. Ball snapped about 2 seconds later and they let the play go. Weird

I can understand not rushing him yet we need him. Ok we are 5-1 but they could also have been the other way.

Aye, that was quite strange actually. I was roaring at the laptop for the officials to throw flags for DoG and was livid when they allowed it to go unpunished - had he managed a first down out of that, I'd have felt aggrieved I guess but the officials couldn't have known what the outcome would be so they're only partly to blame.

Glad I couldn't find a stream for the LSU game. Would have been raging watching us lose to Ole Miss until 4am

By the looks of it, we had a bit of a shootout with Indiana, racking up 63 points into the bargain (though more worryingly, conceding 47...).

With Ohio State winning again and Clemson getting crushed, the Buckeyes should find themselves at #3 when the rankings are announced tomorrow.

Not going to see the Patriots vs Jets game today but for the first time in a while, I think both teams and fans won't be sure what to expect! I do worry a little with the loss of Amendola, Talib, Mayo and long-term Wilfork that we're weaker than we were when we played them at Foxborough but another low-scoring game wouldn't surprise me today.

In recent years the Pats-Jets tilts have always been close at Foxboro but the Pats have been more dominant in New Jersey. Gronk is active so I hope that he gets a TD today. He should significantly improve the Pats RZ performance.

    Two observations from today:

    1. There is no more satisfying an image in sports than a dejected Tom Brady sitting on the bench.

    2. Those Packers uniforms are smart.

Horrid call, horrid rule, penalising for following blockers. 15 yards is excessive, if it is to be a penalty, make it 5 yards and a re-scrimmage

    Haha

Sports a strange thing. One week you win dodgy and the next week you lose. Even the score was the same

Is the Jags offensive gameplan to score only field goals? Coz it aint working.

You been sucking lemons all week?

Strange week in the NFL - only seen our highlights, as I was out celebrating my wedding anniversary yesterday, but no complaints really. The players know the rules and you cannot do that anymore.

Geno Smith looks a very promising young QB - he just needs the Jets organisation to build around him and give him some viable weapons to use

Might the result yesterday finally result in the return of DH?! He's not posted in a long while despite the fact that he's running away with the fantasy league!

Still bleating about the Solder "Hold" on KTs GWTD? You're only bleating because you got to see it in Slo-mo, you watch that at game speed and you'll notice that he barely holds him at all.

It seemed like a controversial call, but the call was right, sadly, but the examples of the rule shown to teams in the off season had guys pushing who were not on the LoS at the time of the snap to explain the penalty, which had many fuming when it was called.

I'm still not happy with a lot of the calls from that game but I did enjoy reading the patriots message board this week.

Got a soft spot for the jets too as they have the most Hibs like jerseys

    Edit
Just seen these tweets from Albert Breer, seems the patriots got away with doing the same thing against us last week. I wonder at what point that was and how it would have effected the game with the correct call.

I've got the Jaguars training not too far up the road from me this week...however, it's the Jaguars so I've no real inclination to see if I can get near them

Breer is a gob*****, how exactly were the Patriots "circumventing" this rule? They were committing an act deemed worthy of a flag but no flag was thrown, that's not circumventing the rules.

Oh and the Jets did the exact same pushing thing during Gostkowski's Game-tying FG and did some at other points during the game.

The first time the penalty is called and it decided the game in question, and don't go on about tuck rule, that was a correct call and did NOT decide the game, it changed the game but did not hand the Patriots the win (unlike the pushing call in question, which effectively won the game for the Jets)

Also interesting to note that the wording of the rule was changed shortly after the game by the NFL on their site.

Might try and get tickets for the Lions @ Falcons game but the other 2 are pretty damp squibs IMO.

Surely Sam Bradford is better than a 44 year-old Favre...
