It was definitely an exciting opening week (NFL), with some great NCAA games into the bargain.

I'm attending 2 games this weekend, which I'm stupidly excited by. Lions @ 49ers on Sunday, with Stanford vs UC Davis on Saturday!

And I was right in yesterday's post. I fell asleep before HT
Sounds like a good weekend! I’m off to see Khalil Mack rip our OL into shreds on Monday night.

Josh Sitton out for the season with a torn rotator cuff. Every single year we get a season ending injury to a key player. He's out best OL by a distance and was going to be important in protecting a QB who lools rusty after a season and a half out.

If your looking to see a proper NCAA team, the Buckeyes game is on BT Sport at 1am .

What a fabulous day in Stanford. Great performance and a great win. Also ended up in the same restaurant after the game as a number of the players, and the atmosphere in Palo Alto tonight is electric.

Off to the 49ers game tomorrow - looking forward to seeing the new Levi's stadium.

Dolphins in AFC East title challenge shock?
Bills attempting the worst start in NFL history?
    Bengals look dominating?

    Interesting season already.

Dolphins are blowing the Jets away. Ryan Tannehill is looking like Dan Marino out there.

Our run game looks strong. It's a bold statement but I think Drake is a serious upgrade on Ajayi and Gore gives an experienced head. Wilson, Stills, Grant and Amendola is a very decent receiving corps as well.

I'm still not convinced we are any more than a decent side but with the Bills looking so poor and the Jets looking a work in progress it's all to play for.

Your d is also quite frightening with Robert Quinn in there. Kiki Alonso looks like he's playing well too.

Yep, the line looks a lot better this year which is huge for letring guys make plays on defence. Fitzpatrick looks a steal at 11 in the draft too.

It's nice to be staring 2-0 in the face rather than 0-2 and already 'looking to next year'.

That roughing the passer call in the Packers game just reinforces how crap the bodyweight on the QB rule is.

Raiders Derek Carr is currently 23 attempts, 22 completions. Quite a way to answer last week's critics.

  13. #10272
2-0 for my Bengals and they looked electric in the first half v Baltimore. Joe Mixon is out for a couple of weeks and could be the same for Billy Price. 2 tough road games vs ATL and CAR in the next two weeks so that will be a good measure of where we’re at.

Enjoyed the 49ers vs Lions game yesterday - thought it was going to be a blowout at one point, but Detroit came back well and were unlucky with a couple of officiating calls.

Levi's Stadium is nice, but suffers from no cover, and poor supporting infrastructure. They're not at all well equipped to deal with the size of crowd trying to get in and out of the area.

Jacksonville definitely look like they could be contenders for the AFC this year - they played really well against us yesterday and more than deserved their win!

I've just watched the highlights of Seattle getting pummelled by the Bears. Calm down Bears, you DONT have the 46 defense back again, you just won't face an O line as bad as ours every week.

Wilson looks to have no talent to work with on offense except a punter and a blocking tight end. And what happened to going back to the running game? Schottenheimers play calling fed into Chicagos hands. Pitiful.

I hope you enjoyed your trip to Chicago Calvin (its not Soldier Field anymore is it?)

Another fun weekend, the Auburn v LSU game was great and TCU gave Ohio St a fright.
Packers and Vikings went toe to toe, I would like to see Rodgers fit for a few games though.

    Up this week!

NCAA - Theres a couple of games TBC

    BT - ESPN
    Notre Dame @ Wake Forest
    Texas A&M @ Alabama

    BT Sport 3
    Stanford @ Oregon

    NFL On Sky

    Jets @ Brown
    Saints @ Falcons
    Chargers @ Rams
    Patriots @ Lions
    Steelers @ Bucs

Patriots trade for Josh Gordon. When you see some of the stuff he has achieved on a crappy Browns team, you've got to wonder what he could do with Brady throwing him the ball! I hope for his sake he can stay sober. Selfishly I also hope that he can stay sober and stay on the field for the sake of my fantasy team!

Gordon is either going to be Super Bowl MVP or he's cut and career over in 3 weeks.

When we traded Jimmy Graham for Max Unger I was underwhelmed to say the least but I think we ended up with the better deal, he’s been excellent and leads our O-line superbly

IIRC you got some draft picks as well in the deal?
But yeah, I remember Unger was already one of the best centres around when he was with us.

Actually the problem with our line is not deliberate neglect anymore, we have actually used some early draft picks to get some supposedly strong players out of college, they've just pretty much all been rubbish in the pros. I think a lot of O Line play isn't anything to do with raw talent anyway, it's working as a team of five, good coaching, practice and dedication. And not coming up against an angry Khalil Mack

I only watched the second half but sounds very much like it. Darnold on the other hand couldn't get anything going at all. From what I seen it was the tale of 2 QBS, and if you swapped them round I think the Jets would have seen the game out without much problem.

Ruined an otherwise decent bet for me (I fancied the Jets) but at least it's another L for a team in the dolphins conference

Good Win for Cleveland I wonder if anyone bothered turning up for work today 🤢
The Browns look legit especially on Defence, they should really have won last week if not for the kicker and the tie against the steelers.

It'd be fun to see the Browns kick on and get to the playoffs. I remember the last time they had a decent team in the late 80s, Bernie Kosar and two good Rbs whose names escape me. They also had Ozzie Newsome who was a great TE.

There was a proper amount of money put on them at Vegas at the start of theseason (although you can bet pretty much anywhere in the US now I believe? ). They were 90/1 before last week, I'd imagine that's come down a bit now.

Cubs won the world series, anything is possible

    And Hibs won the cup

Each state is still different but yeah you pretty much can bet legally. Here in NJ it's at race tracks/ sports stadiums and online only which the big casinos were quick to put out mobile apps for and are taking money on anything.
