    Big Brian Welsh

Has anyone heard the story about a court case between us and the big fella? been ongoing for a looooong time about someone on the staff injecting him with steroids to play through the pain barrier and ultimately ended his career?
heard today that he has been awarded a MASSIVE sum, I do know the amount but not to sure if im allowed to mention it here?

    From WIKI
In 2008, Welsh began legal proceedings against Doctor Malcolm Morrison, who was employed as Hibernian club doctor during Welsh's time with the club.[2] It was claimed that "an injection given...ruined his career".[2] An out-of-court settlement for a "substantial sum" was reached on 30 April 2008.[2]

He was seeking £350,000 compensation. If he got full amount I'd be willing to wager legal fees would put settlement (plus costs) in region of £500,000.

Likely to be from the doctor's defence union, rather than HFC coffers

Doctors and other professionals (lawyers etc) take out Professional Indemnity Insurance to cover claims when clients sue them

It was most certainly his insurers, not Hibs, and it was Welsh v the doctor not Welsh v Hibs.

one of the above figures is the exact one I was told. it was the one with the most zero's
but I was told he only got his cash this week? would seem a long wait if the court found in his favour in 2008?

I watched Welsh play for Hibs and believe me it was the fans who should have had the pain killing injections
