Just getting a bit bored of Hogg getting singled out at every opportunity.
There are multiple reasons for our poor performance last night and in some of the recent matches.
If people are going to over react after each defeat I would just like to see alternative threads pop up like:-
Riordan - Is there a more light weight attacker in the league?
Bamba - Is there a more 'clanger prone' defender in the league?
Zemmama - Is there a more inconsistant and frustrating winger in the league?
Nish - Is there a more ineffective target man in the league? (outwith Nade obviously)

Bamba- is there a more 'hands on'
defender in the league?
Zemamma- Is there a more 'central' winger in the league?
Nish- Say no more.

Hoggy is never a right back in a month of Sundays and Yogi can surely recognise that.

I think Hogg is a decent central defender, but any time I've seen him play at right back it's been a disaster.
Yogi would have been better with a back three rather than Hogg at right back.

Controversial, cannae really disagree though...

18-02-2010 01:39 PM #18Just don't see why Hogg should be made the scapegoat everytime, when clearly there are others in the team who could be singled out for not performing. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Correct me if I'm wrong but has Bamba not given away to stupid penalties in the last two games?
And have Murray, Hanlon and Bamba not been part of the same defence as Hogg that's lost 10 goals in their last 3 games?
Not having a go at you mate just grumpy!

18-02-2010 01:42 PM #19No, just the one last night. The penalty against the huns was a dive, Bamba never touched him. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

But he put himself in a position to give away a stupid penalty against Rangers by sticking his leg out when he was never getting the ball. Miller may have made a meal of it but Bamba still gave away a penalty.
Likewise last night he gave away a stupid penalty by sticking his hand up and stopping the ball in the box.
Two stupid penaties in the last two games.

18-02-2010 02:00 PM #21He was never getting the man either, perhaps he should not have tried to shut him down either. A diver cheated to get that penalty. Just another excuse to have a pop at a player, when he's done nothing wrong. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

18-02-2010 02:25 PM #22It's not an excuse to have a pop. I'm trying to point out that Hogg isn't the only defender at fault. It just so happens that Bamba has made the most individual mistakes recently. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
FWIW I'd prefer to see Bamba in midfield breaking up play and laying balls off (with the odd surging run forward)
Either that or maybe tried out at right back?
With what we've got at the moment I'd like to see Hogg/Murray in the centre with Hanlon left back and McCormack right back.
Rankin left mid, Bamba, Miller, Wotherspoon.
Stokes and Riordan up front.

I`ve lost count of the managers at ER and at International level that have played centre backs at right back, if we are resting Wotherspoon surely Thicot could have played there.
