Some people on here seem to be mind readers in that they can tell Bamba is not on his game, not wanting to play for Hibs, too big for his boots.

I don't believe any of that. To say he has been poor since ANC is just an exaggeration. Not at his very best, but certainly not poor.

I say we get behind the big man and appreciate his quality.
I say we get behind ALL our players. No player should be an automatic pick, and Yogi should be playing players in their correct positions. The stick Bamba has been getting on here is nothing compared to what others get even when they play well.Last nights game was a shocker, but it might be the kick up the arse we need.

Just finished watching the game on Alba I sky+ last night. Due to the amount of criticism of Bamba on this forum I payed particular attention to Sol and must say I found a lot of it OTT and unfounded
Yes he did not have a great game by the high standards he has set from earlier in the season, but then again who in that team last night did (Smith in goals maybe the only one with pass marks and possibly Stokes who continued to work hard up front). IMO Bamba was communicating well, constantly trying to organise the back 4. He took up good positions and for the most part was strong & commanding. He did let Sheridan give him the slip in the first half who got a near post shot in which was well saved by Smith, but on the whole was not as bad as some are making out. Also think he was unlucky for the pen, it was more ball to hand than hand to ball!
Bamba is a class act and even when not playing as well as he can, like last night, is still a good player. I honestly believe that if a scout from an EPL club or a French league 1 club watched him last night, there assessment would be 'not a great game but worth another look'
I feel big Sol at the moment is the target for criticism, and some of the folk having a go are the same who were slagging Fletcher off this time last year as being over rated/not good enough when anybody with half a footballers eye could see he was a class apart in our team!
The big test now for the whole team is Motherwell on Saturday. I just pray we get back on track and the fans don't turn on Bamba or any of the players.

    Rant over, tim hat on

A week or 2 on the bench and hopefully he'll back to his old self, but for now bring back Spooney and Paul Hanlon

    Smith

    Spooney Hogg Hanlon Murray
That we be the shortest back four in the league. I think that would cause us a lot of problems at set pieces etc.

Hanlon is 6 ft + as is Murray

Hogg and Wotherspoon are not that tall but it is in no means the shortest back 4.

I agree with a lot of that, although i dont about the penalty, imho a stupid mistake. I saw your dad on Saturday at Preston, he said you were going too, i had a wee look for you all at half time, but couldn't find you. Alec said he might be going up to Motherwell on Saturday, i am are you going?

You seem to be taking this very personally. I can believe he was everything you would want a pro player to be when you met him, so no argument from me there. I think it's pretty telling 'though when there are a number of threads about the pros and cons of a player, and, as I've said before, it's all about opinions.

Bamba, to my mind, was no more, or less, to blame than anyone else last night. However, he is the one most supporters have reservations about, mainly because of the erratic style he has and his 'accident prone' decision making. I think he merits a game, but only in midfield. He's too high risk in defence. In saying that, I'm not a fan of players with his sort of mentality and stand by my view that (once he crosses that white line) he thinks he's a world beater. That is not a healthy influence on the team. How do you combat that? You can drop him and try to make him realise he's not indispensable or sell him, assuming someone else is willing to pay for him. He's young, but needs to mature, quickly.
No, not at all. Just defending, to me, a quality player!
Nobody has taken this personally, maybe apart from you.

no doubting he's a quality player but everyone has their off-days. sol has spent his playing for hibs when he should have been on the bench. hopefully he's got it out of his system now.
