That sounds like a plan formulating, Hanibal!

Just a suggestion, but, no buffet is a bit tight considering the cash-money that people are spending on tickets, horses, bets bottle, raffle.
I would be happy to do a simple buffet ( sarnies, pizza, sausage rolls, crisps etc) iv done them loadsa times. Basically just a wee nibble n recon we could put out a decent amount of scran for around £40

    watcha fink??

The forrester (spit) rugby club is a good venue for it, we had one there last year for my bros team. cracking night out and they appeared to have all the encessary equipment.

as far as i recall the Edin City club has the equipment too.

great work fonz, I do think if there's 7 races at £2 a horse is a better deal for the punter IMO
So is that 1 person per horse?

payout is either 2:1, 3:1 or 4:1 depending on how many people backed the winner....keep it simple.
Or multiple people backing the same horse?

Selling multiple tickets for each horse is the way i've seen it done, and it went well.

Do u guys know how to work out the payout for a winning ticket?
I know there is a formula to work to and its about the total takings of the race and the amount of tickets sold for that horse, so if tickets are 50p each then a horse that sold lots of tickets pays for example £1.50/£2.00 a ticket, whereas a horse that didnt sell many could net the backers say £4 a ticket.
U prob know all of this John, but just checkin?

    The formula is somthing like:

    Takings x payout% = total payout
    ............................-------------
    .......................number of wining tickets

eg. selling 45 tickets at 50p each, with payout at 50% and 5 winning tickets.

    £22.5 x 0.5 = 11.25
    ..................------
    ......................5

So £2.25 to each winning ticket. (posible rounded up/down to nearest 50p to make it easyer.)

Another thing to think about nearer the time....we will need a shed load of 50p's whether its
    50p or £1 a ticket.
