Is a really good signing for them, Alonso is a quality player, will add whats needed to their midfield.
Is a big loss for Pool though, be interesting to see who they replace him with.

Alonso is a good player, no doubt about it but I still reckon he is over-priced at £30 million.
Real Madrid have spent frankly ridiculous money on 4 players in the close season. What I would give for Hibs (or me) to have that sort of cash!!

Funny money these days...decent player, but £30m ?.......not just him, some of the fees clubs are shelling out is outrageous.

Man U and the Pool have lost players and not replaced with better.
Get your money on Chelsea.

in the case of united, fergie has said publicly that he has no intention of spending anymore in this window.
i dont think chelsea are good enough but what i would concede is that ancelotti is an unknown quantity in the EPL.
mon the red devils!

But would they be a force in the SPL with our concentration on the more physical, high tempo side of the game?

There will be a noticeable difference without Ronaldo but Fergie has said they are going to change the way they play, and if it can suit Owen (and he stays fit) he will score goals.
