    Boxing

After sitting through the horrendous mis matches of Pavlik v Rubio and Cotto v Jennings my disillusionment with boxing is almost complete. The continuing farce of 4 main governing bodies and countless other smaller ones is ridiculous and so money orientated its unreal.

As an example take the light welterweights. Ricky Hatton is the best in the divison by light years, Ring magazine and Linear champion. However he was stripped of his IBF belt for having the audacity to take on the P4P number 1. He is not even ranked in the WBA top 10 and the WBC rank him behind both Timothy Bradley and Junior Witter. The IBF now has Juan Urango as its champion, a decent enough boxer, but was well beaten by Hatton.

Amir Khan is walking into a title shot despite never having fought any decent domestic opposition, how is this fair on other young pros who come up through the ranks properly?

A money making excercise for the Don Kings and Frank Warrens of the world. The only titles worth a dime now are the Ring belts and the linear championships. The sooner more boxers follow Hatton and Mayweathers example and deal direct with show promoters themselves and keep management 'in house' the better for the whole sport.
PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years
