    Cheltenham 2009

Going to Cheltenham this year for the first time ith 4 mates and was wondering if anyone has been and has any advice on what tickets to get. Think we are going to get the cheap "best mate" tickets but any advice greatly appreciated.

And more importantly any tips......Binocular in the champion hurdle all the way for me

been twice and loved it. never been to best mate enclosure always tattersalls. it's a;ways vey busy but the atmosphere is magic. best mate is quite limited. the tattersalls has more bars food places and the centaur which is a great place.

    tips to follow.

I've been down 8 times in the last 10 years, not going this year .

We always hire a mobile home and park on the course, cheap, handy but very smelly after 3/4 days....

Ensure you are in sharp on day 1, the roar as the first race starts is one of those fantastic occasions at a sporting event you have to be there to appreciate. You will have a superb time, especially if you can pick a winner or 6.

I saw another JP McManus horse run over at Down Royal in November, absolutely hacked up against good opposition, not much being said about it as it is up against Binocular in Champion Hurdle, goes by the name of JERED, worth a wee look at probably a decent price.

Price has shortened quite noticabily, ground dependant i may put a few pound each way on it. Kalahari King in the arkle chase looks good bet IMO!!

Your bet is called a Super Yankee and according to the calculations from the Ladbrokes calculator your winnings will be £469.29, well done.

Geordie pal sent me 4 tips for Cheltenham yesterday, all rank.

He sent me 4 for today which i studiously ignored, the first one came in at 11/1 Tricky Trickster.

Other 3 are Mad Max, Ballyfitz and Petit Robin.

Good start in the 1st for you then.

I backed American Trilogy in the 205

Just wishing I had put on more now though!

Back after an amazing week at cheltenham, up there with any sporting event i`ve ever been too. So well organised, friendly, helpful staff, excellent value for money, fantastic horses , sublime jockeys and a few winners. Will definitely be returning next year, a truly magical sporting occasion. Can`t speak highly enough!!
