Have just got in after a round at Harburn (courtesy of Lex)

I've even more respect than before - if thats possible - of what awaits you all

That 17th is a hike.........and you still have another 19 after that

    Good luck - again.

I was thinking that whilst walking up it yesterday - it's hard enough getting up the hill after 1 round, but to have done it at the end of the 3rd will be an absolute killer! And if Dalmahoy have offered their East Course, then we're in for a world of pain!

Was playing Drumoig today and I'm playing Monifieth with Lex and TQM tomorrow, followed by another round at Drumoig on Thursday - gradual conditioning!!

Thanks for all the donations so far everyone - currently sitting at £165 online.

This may seem a stupid question, but how do you access the signature pannel on your profile, i'm wanting to but the justgiving link in there but haven't got a clue how to do it.

You've got to invite your mates for a round at the Carrick

No, if you go into User CP then "edit Signature" you can do it there.

Do you think it might be worth a shout contacting the likes of The Carrick, Loch Lomond and St Andrews to ask if they would donate a 4 ball for auction for the charity. I suppose it wouldn't hurt and the worst they could say is "no".

    Kingsbarns, Carnoustie, Dornoch etc also.

Probably worthwhile asking all, bar Loch Lomond. They are very strict about the "members only" and "guests of members" rule. To their detriment right enough, as it cannot be sustainable!

Do you think it would be worthwhile organising a racenight/casino night somewhere, to try and raise money, and include a raffle as part of it?

When I contacted the club last week I mentioned it would be good if we could use the facilities there for an event. I've still not heard anything back from them yet.

Is anyone taking part in this a member on the bounce?

If so, fancy starting a thread over there detailing our efforts and linking the donation page?

Maximising potential donors and all that....

This is really a fantastic effort from you guys, well done.I'll donate some cash at the end of the month.

I tried to get my mates to do this, we were gonna go for Longniddry,Royal Musselburgh,Duddingston & Prestonfield but we decided we couldnt possibly do 72 holes in one day, so muchos kudos to you boys for attempting it.

You can add Dornoch to that list!
Deffo Godsahibby, the purest and most beautiful place on planet earth for golf, beats any other course in Scotland (therefore the world) imo.

Check out a season in Dornoch if you havent already.

Does anyone have any experience at setting up fundraising events?

I've suggested to Houchy the idea of having a casino night/racenight to raise monies for our efforts.

Bathgate Golf Club regularly host a casino night for the Bathgate PHAB (physically handicapped and able bodied) Club, where they raise funds to help pay for outings for disabled children in the area. They charge £10 entry fee per person, which covers your evening of gambling (you get £100/£200 in paper money) and also provides a buffet. You're allocated into a number of teams and whatever team is the winner at the end of the night takes away prizes (also prizes for the individual with the most money, runners up etc etc).

Prizes will normally be donated and a raffle is usually added in to help raise additional funds.

I have the concept, but no clue where to start either!

    Anyone?

Just got back from the driving range at Houston (opposite uphall) and the pro came out and said he saw my articles in the papers and has donated 2 x 45 minute lessons to be raffled for the charity. I didn't even ask for them, he just came out and gave me the voucher.

Pretty sure it will have been the same guy Jill as I'm sure he's been the only one up there. Guy called Andrew Marshall.

Thats him. He was great with the kids, so patient and laid back. They had 2 sets of 10 lessons from him.
