I assume as always it is outwith tourist season meaning it is only residents who pay their council tax that will suffer the most? Thank God i am moving out of Edinburgh in a couple years time as the city is becoming a joke for residents to live in with the usual pre April budget phantom repairs to roads that are not that bad anyway.

Princes Street
It has just been on the BBC news, that Princes Street is too close completely to traffic for at least 6 months next year, to allow the tram lines to be laid

All the traffic will be decanted along Queen Street
I can see a lot more traffic problems arising soon

What you are referring to are traffic calming measures, an Orwellian phrase for road humps, street blocking, road narrowing and any other **** intended to make the driver's life a misery.
