I've heard that one before, but I don't get it. The change in temperature of a liquid has a set formula involving the volume of the liquid, the energy used, and a constant attributed to what the liquid is (i.e. water). I don't see how any of these would change, we just have a great change in temperature required to get from hot to freezing.
