I think Dundee Utd will invest the Robertson money for next season.
A championship winning team or a base for them to stay in the premiership. Depends on the outcome of this season for them.
I watched an ESPN documentary about sport stars in USA. I can't remember the exact figure but it was something mind blowing, like 80% of athletes that make it to the major leagues of the big sports in America (NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB) declare themselves bankrupt after they retire. I couldn't believe it at the time and I still at this point wondering if it was just totally made up. Although I do remember in the documentary some people that were interviewed saying that they didn't get paid during the off season - which in NBA I know is about 6 months if you don't make the playoffs.
:hijack:
I always had a feeling Stokesy and Gaz were similar and now I know why - neither of them are Elvis fans.

Seen a few rumours that Celtic have accepted £34m for Dembele. Might be a load of tosh but if its true then they can wave any fee we need to pay, not as if they need it. 👀

There's a bit about it here. I had to laugh at Evander Holyfields bit.. The bank foreclosed on his 109!!! bedroom mansion. :greengrin
I thought this was a Commons thread - hard to digest whats posted on here Anyway FWIWIMHO he will sign tomorrow. I am not telling you my source!!!! Enjoy your night
Is this deal dead or still hopeful of a revival?
Assuming we're not going to strengthen the squad, if we continue to pick up points and get across the line, all concerned will be congratulated for a job well done. If however we take a downturn, pick up injuries to key players and get into a dogfight, this window will probably be identified as the catalyst. I'm a great believer in strengthening from a position of strength. I think that we will ultimately win the league but a couple of good signings could have almost guaranteed success.
Only by those who feel the need to have a scapegoat. We have no way of predicting who, if anyone will get injured and we can't cover everyone. If Commons and Stokes don't happen there will have been good reason for it - Stubbs and Lennon have repeatedly said they have had great backing from the board and so there is no reason to think that the board has let us down. If we can't get the players we really want then I for one wouldn't want last minutes makeshifts - we've been down that road before and it didn't work.
