After polishing shoes use a damp cotton wool pad to put a bit extra polish on the toes and heel. Brush and repeat a few times and you get a brilliant shine.

Most cars petrol gauge has a symbol like a petrol pump or whatever..next to that is a wee arrow, but only on one side.
The side the arrow points to is the side the petrol cap is on.
If you need to work out what direction you're going but don't have a compass. Point the hour hand of your watch at the sun and the middle point between the hour hand and 12 is due south.
In the southern hemisphere it's north.
I’ve read this before but it’s not true. Or at least it’s not true everywhere, I used this logic in a rental car in America and got out to find I was on the wrong side :greengrin
Edit: after reading up online I always thought it was the side that the nozzle was on the picture, but as you said, it’s the arrow, not the nozzle.
Discovered the other day that freezing then defrosting butter makes it much more spreadable.

If you buy new bars of soap take them out of the wrapper and store in a cold place. They'll last longer.

I walked past a guy in the street once who asked if he could buy my shoes off me. They were destroyed so if I was closer to home I’d have happily sold them to him and he could have chugged himself into oblivion all he wanted. Unfortunately it was raining and I was about a half hour walk away :greengrin
same thing is happened to me , I leave lemon juice on it for some time then scratch it with a sharp object and it works for me.
