Just back from Metallica at the Hydro - superb 🤘
The Fall at Glasgow QMU next weekend next up for me. Saw them in Wakefield and Newcastle and while Mark E Smith is performing from a wheelchair recently, he is sounding the best he has for years. The gig was originally scheduled for Oran Mor, but had been moved to QMU and tickets are close to selling out - should be a cracker.
Last show at Boiler Shop - Newcastle

Watching Paul Weller at The Wiltern. First time I have seen him live.
Still pished from the derby win.
Drinking way too much for an 8am flight to Houston.
But every now and then you have to go over the edge. No, let me correct that. Once a week we have to go over the edge.
I'm not ashamed to admit I was pretty upset watching Linkin Park's memorial concert live from the Hollywood Bowl.
Some of the best rock vocalists (and non-rock) in the world, and absolutely none of them could do justice to Chester Bennington's vocals.
A very touching night that I'm glad I got to see in its entirety.
I have a spare ticket for the wonderful Steve van Zandt at the Glasgow Academy on Sunday 12th November.
I saw him in June, and it was my gig of the year.
PM me if you're interested.
Just bagged front row seats for Tears For Fears (and Alison Moyet) at the Armadillo in May. Last saw them in 83 at the Playhouse. Delighted!
Jools Holland at York Barbican on Friday.
Front row 👍
Baxter Dury @ Stereo - Feb 20th and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard @ o2 ABC - Feb 25th are purchased to get next years gig diary opened.
Idles @ The Garage - April 17th next to buy. Their show at Sneaky Petes earlier this year was one of the best of 2017 for me, and definitely keen to see again.
Completely forgot about a gig tonight until a text from a friend about where we were meeting. Wire at The Mash House were excellent.
Same venue for Lovely Eggs early next year which was announced today, so that will be next purchase.
Not a gig as such but a quick plug for a new indie club night starts tomorrow. Myself and a few mates DJing.
The night is called "The Fear" and is on at Mash House 10pm to 3am. We play vinyl sets only and it's a mix of indie (new and classics), 60s psychedelic stuff, mod and soul/northern soul.
Citrus is finished now and Madchester is a bit cliched or mainstream for some tastes. So if you fancy a new indie night and out tomorrow, get along! Fiver entry.
Not an upcoming gig, but last night I saw Karine Polwart's Wind Resistance at the Lyceum.
Just wonderful, life affirming stuff.
Bit of a disappointing turnout to be honest!
Those who came along enjoyed it but was hoping for more people. This was first night at Mash House and will likely be every other month there. Although we'll be doing next one around Xmas time.
We had a night at Voodoo Rooms earlier in the year that was better attended so we'll persevere! Trying to build it up and spread the word.
You can find us on Facebook and Instagram (thefear_edinburgh) if you're interested in keeping an eye on future dates👍🏻
Public Service Broadcasting @ Usher Hall 14/4/18. Not got round to seeing them before, so looking forward to this one.
LCD Soundsystem @ SWG3 go on sale on Friday, but will be a scramble of Tynecastle/Ibrox proportions.
Run the Jewels in Glasgow tonight, superb!
Hope you enjoy it. My friends constantly praise them, but I saw them at the Queens Hall and couldn't see what my friends saw.
Just back from the Mash House. Brilliant set from Syd Arthur. Saw them in Glasgow on Tuesday as well - two really enjoyable shows.

Off to see Ocean Colour Scene in Wellington on Sunday night. Their first time ever in NZ, doing the Moseley Shoals tour.
Haven't seen them since 2002 so will be a trip down memory lane!
Oh and in a busy week I nearly forgot.
Great Jake Bugg solo acoustic show at the Queens Hall on Monday.
This young man has a distinctive style and his songs are always interesting.
I really enjoyed his set.
Thanks to Bod from hibs.net for the tickets!
Orbital, 2 weeks today in Manchester.
Got LCD Soundsystem tickets this morning for Glasgow next May.
Rather than post about gigs I've seen, I shall attempt to be true to the title of this thread.
Next up is a trip to the excellent Backstage at the Green Hotel in Kinross to see the legendary Carl Palmer.
The opportunity to see this amazing drummer close up in a small venue should not be missed.
Tom Clarke (from The Enemy) next Friday in Glasgow and then Kasabian at the Hydro next Saturday night. Looking forward to it.
