I note that we finished 14 points ahead under McLeish in 200/01 and 11 points ahead in Mowbray's first season but I imagine there must have been some distance between the teams in the 70s ( although with only two points for a win back then it probably wasn't as much as it might have been)?

70/71 - 3 points behind
71/72 - 5 points ahead
72/73 - 15 points ahead
73/74 - 11 points ahead
74/75 - 14 points ahead
75/76 - 8 points ahead

Unfortunately when we had our spell of dominance there were only 2 games a season, whereas when they had theirs it was 4 per season. That’s one reason why the numbers they have been spouting are skewed.Quote:
