Was watching SSN last night, it said that Fury had been taking cocaine regularly and been drinking heavily but he had been clean since OCTOBER 1ST!!!
I just about pissed myself laughing. Not exactly an achievement is it!?
He's taken class A drugs whilst not only being involved in professional sport but the Heavyweight Champion of the world. He should never box again.
Disagree on that. If he gets himself better and off drugs/drink he should be able to box again if he wants. He's never been the perfect sporting role model, but at the end of the day if he chooses to take cocaine then so be it. He's not the first sportsman to do it and he won't be the last. There's far worse things going on in the world of boxing and sport in general.
Whilst I wouldn't say Fury should be banned for life for his actions, there is no doubt in my mind he has to be stripped of the belts and given a ban.
Cocaine may not be performance enhancing but given the stress it can place on the cardiovascular system and the potential mental effects it can have there is no way the BBBofC or any of the world bodies can be seen to indirectly condone it or turn a blind eye.
It's up to Fury to clean himself up and earn his place back at the top table.
