Mother India, although if it's during festival time then a table that size will probably be impossible.

I went to Brewhemia on Friday (used to be Sportsters\City) for a bite to eat before a fringe show.
What a mistake. Showed us to some seats, gave us some menus then ignored us. It was busy, but not so busy they didn't have empty tables or a lot of waiting staff just stood around. Gave them a chance, waited, waited a bit more then just got up and left.
So, er, yeah. It's done up nicely inside but their service doesn't exist. That's all I can say about it.
Went to El Cartel on Thistle Street the other day. Absolutely hands down the best Mexican food I've ate in Edinburgh, probably even the best I've ate full stop. Fairly small menu but I went wanting tacos which they have about 6 different types of so that didn't bother me. 2 tacos was £6.50, I got 4 and and 4 was a lot of food although 3 would maybe be not quite enough. I never drank but they do frozen margaritas which looked very good aswell.
Strongly recommend Guru Balti at fountain bridge just opposite Victor Paris. Usual menu but really nice, large portions, and good service.
We usually opt for the dhansak and one of either the jalfreze (sp) and a Madras's pretty spicy! My favourite, by far, in that part of the world.
Got an email today from Vittoria group saying they are offering all season ticket holders at Hibs (and Hearts) 20% off food for the 2017/2018 season at Vittoria on the Bridge and Walk plus La Favorita.
New venue opening in Corstorphine replacing The Oak, looks like it's going to be decent, The Torfin.
Anything is an improvement on the Oak. When I first moved to the West of Edinburgh we ventured into the Oak before a meal at the Eastern Pavillion (which is brilliant, by the way) but it's the sort of place you just want to walk out of as soon as you walk in. Good riddance to a crap pub.
Worst Restuarant I have ever been in.
Twice been in and never got to main course as service was so slow. At a family meal in there we left after a 3 hour wait in which we were only given starters. Kept being told the food was coming but we eventually lost patience.
The other time was a night out with friends when we gave it another try. we had booked for 7pm a table and were told to wait in the bar, then we got told table would be ready about 8:30, so we decided to go to Abida.
You're right. Disgusting pint of Guinness. Sour. Always a sign that the lines haven't been cleaned regularly. Glasses always had bubbles up the inside ditto not cleaned properly. Rare times I went in there were a small group of nasty locals.
It's due to be a steakhouse I gather. Better be good right next to the Wetherspoons which takes trade away from all the Corstorphine pubs.

Down in Leeds next weekend and tried for No.50 on that list, The Man Behind The Curtain but it was fully booked. Own fault for leaving it until yesterday to try and book!
Going to the Crafthouse instead, will report back :greengrin
Do fancy L'Enclume though, did you stay there as well?
