I'd love to see this! Think it's sold out.

I read this as "fridge recommendations". The really sad thing is, I actually opened it! 😳
Edit: I can't see past Zanussis 😜
Had a Friday afternoon to myself so decided to take in a few of the Free Fringe shows. Walked out of one, another was pretty poor but absolute standout and well worth going to was a boy called Stuart Goldsmith at the liquid rooms annex.
Pete Firman is really good. Not normally a huge fan of magicians but he's really entertaining, and funny too.
With the popularity of his podcast I'm surprised be still does free shows. I suppose some comedians prefer the the freedom that offers them.
Other top free shows:
Kieran Hodgson @ Voodoo Rooms
Richard Gadd @ Banshee Labyrinth
Lloyd Langford @ The White Horse
Rob Auton @ Banshee Labyrinth
Daniel sloss
Pete firman
Abandoman
Joel dommett
They've been my pick of the fringe so far. I'm very much looking forward to seeing foil arms and hog again after they've been brilliant the last 3/4 years!
Stuff I saw this year:
Strange Face - Adventures with a lost Nick Drake recording: Loved it.
Dark Tales: Okay.
Dream Dangerously - Neil Gaiman documentary film: Loved it.
Nosferatu's Shadow: One of the best things I have ever seen. Stunning. Go and see it.
My Festival this year.
Wind Resistance was simply stunning.
Carol Ann Duffy and John Sampson, poetry and music. Entertaining.
Horse in Careful was very good and brave. biographic play.
Flit was well done but a bit too metaphorical.
In order of preference
Wind Resistance
Horse in Careful
Carol Ann Duffy and John Sampson
Flit
Fringe recommendations?
I suggest a Hotpoint Dyslexic
Jason Byrne was excellent!
Shows I've been to this year...
Yeti's Demon Dive Bar - it is a bit weird but quite funny in a Mighty Boosh sort of way. Too much audience participation (but I would say that as I was 'picked out'.)
Late Night Sexy Show - musical comedy. I was conned into going to this by my wife who neglected to tell me it involved a naked guy playing the guitar. Not that funny.
This Glorious Monster - sketch comedy. It has a League of Gentlemen feel about it. Quite good.
Adam Kay - musical comedy (the show is interestingly called 'Fingering A Minor on the Piano). I've seen him a few times before so knew what to expect - except the ending of the show took a very dark, sobering turn. Highly recommend.
Going to Stotty's show tomorrow night. Anyone been? Any good?
seen a few of the pay what you want shows today and all where good in there own way
ahir shah @ cab vol. place was absolutely packed, show was based on modern life/social issues/politics, with plenty humor.
olaf falafel @ city cafe. completely stupid but enjoyable. hes apparently had success on vine and the show included a number of these he's recorded.
ari sharffir @ the hive. quite dark humor, which he warned of at the beginning, with plenty holocaust and abortion jokes.
overall ws a great mix with perfomers who i'd all reconmend.
Grant Stott show was excellent! Mentioned May 21 st
Daniel Sloss & Trainspotting tonight.
Was at trainspotting earlier. Totally surreal experience . Highly recommend it. Don't sit next to the toilet like we did 🙈
Grant Stott's show was fantastic. Mentions of Scottish cup, buster Browns, Coasters and many more!! Very funny!!
Saw a band called Bookends. They're a Simon and Garfunkel tribute. Very good indeed. Venue 43, they are also doing a gig with a string quartet at the Featival theatre in January. Really are worth a visit.
Saw Simon Evans the other night, very good. Would highly recommend him. 👍
