What the hell has happened to Gostkowski?! Another missed field goal!
Did anyone see Megatron's one handed catch? My favourite player in the NFL by a mile not named Revis.
Another weird one, I have never seen a punter get hit so much as Mesko has been recently. Or maybe I have just never noticed!
I am buzzing so much from the result today that I cant even bring myself to roast our Jets fans about their high scoring game at the Metlife! :greengrin
What do you make of Ryan benching Sanchez J?
Looks like we're AFC East Champions again but it's beginning to feel a little redundant as there's absolutely no competition in the division.
Two games going into OT: St Louis holding San Francisco again and Chicago score a last minute FG to get to OT against Seattle.
Champions again :greengrin
I said earlier this year I thought you would run away with it again. The Dolphins have improved a little, the Bills have been surprisingly disappointing while we are just a mess.
I'm really interested to hear what Rex has to say about the situation now. The NY fans have been clamouring for McElroy to get a chance and he looked fairly competent (compared to Sanchez anyway - the interceptions today were just horrendous!) Ryan's got a big decision now, keep going with a QB we're heavily invested in for the next five years or go with the young arm in McElroy. Personally I'd give McElroy a run as we've very little chance of making the playoffs. What we do with Sanchez if McElroy does well I don't know!
Seahawks win on the road
What a win for the Colts!!
I'll be amazed if Sanchez is the starting QB in NY next year. He's clearly uncomfortable in the role, whether it be a result of pressure and expectation or simply that he's not good enough. I don't know if it is a case that he's just a poor QB or not - I'm obviously imbalanced but he's never impressed me in any of the games I've seen him in and he's looked even worse this season than any previous. The consistent absence of offense and number of turnovers this year have been unbelievable - you've probably seen the Jets more than me this year, so let me ask: Is it mostly all on Sanchez or is his protection a real issue?
If Rex is sensible, he can see that Sanchez isn't fit for purpose. I'd like to see him persist with McElroy, as I'm curious to see what the Jets can do with someone competent at the helm. There were some promising looking receivers in your offense early doors but they've disappeared as Sanchez can't seem to find anything through the air.
Indianapolis win in the last second against the Lions, St Louis and San Francisco look like they're heading towards another tie and Seattle turn over the Bears in OT. What a night :greengrin
Rams beat the 49ers
What a kick from Greg Zurlein! 54 yards with 30 seconds left in OT to topple the 49ers!
I had given him as much as leeway anyone as I felt he was still relatively young and was playing in a pretty intense market (he drew a lot of comparisons to Eli in his first years in NYC). However this year he has regressed significantly, so much that it can't just be put down to the O Line and the receivers at his disposal; he looks terrified to be out on the field at times. It's a real shame as he's a very likeable guy and presents himself well in the media even when they are killing him. We'd have to take a big hit if we were to cut him now but it could be for the best long term.
Thank god I'm off work tomorrow and the nfl is on because I'm buzzing and wide awake. What's the SNF game just in case :greengrin
Hibernian, Seattle Seahawks and St Louis Rams all achieving great/spectacular results on the same day? It explains why I'm just home at 04:58. Perfect.
On the bus home I read about an interesting and not totally unlikely scenario where three NFC West teams make the playoffs! Strongest division you say..?
Quote:
Thanks to Facebook pal Rob for sharing an ESPN Playoff Machine scenario producing three NFC West teams in the playoffs.
This is exactly what we need to cap a wild day in the NFC West.
The way Rob drew it up, San Francisco became the third seed at 11-4-1. St. Louis was the fifth seed at 9-6-1. Seattle was the sixth seed at 9-7.
For this to happen, the Rams would beat Buffalo, Minnesota, Tampa Bay and Seattle. The 49ers would win all their remaining games except for one at New England. The Seahawks would beat Arizona and Buffalo before losing to the 49ers and Rams.
